Here's how I feel about the Thor issue
It seemed like a massive cliffhanger and I don't want to comment on the finality of it because they just killed Mjolnir and Mangog off panel if it's true. Which, while possible to give Jane more praise by not wasting pages, it seems to go against everything we know in comics. The villian usually comes back in these scenerios to get beaten by one more love attack.
I'm guessing Mangog jumps back and Thor picks up the hammer to take him out with one big attack.
But that's just what I think. I don't know what's going to happen and I'm not going to raise a fuss over it just to look like an ass a month later. All we learned from this month is that next month is going to be so much worse in this thread no matter what happens.

Next month:. Mangog was Thor all along!!!
Jane grabs the cracked hammer to absorb the mother storm into herself which turns her into a cosmic entity and the forever Goddess of Asgard. She destroys Super Mangog and goes away. The last panel is her holding Asgard in her hands with a loving look while Odin looks up at his new Goddess

good post. i wonder if the solicitations with thor having a golden arm is tied into all this. Maybe Fosters soul gets bound up in the hammer and make the bond greater.
side note, im kinda annoyed the falcon/foster relationship didnt go anywhere and would rather jane and thor hugged it out at her death than kiss. that was forced

Mind you King Thor, but meh. I doubt it will be anything special besides Jane. I don't see them making new enchantments for gold arms for example.
I'm fully expecting Mangog to come back, laugh at how stupid she was to think that a sun would kill him, start wrecking shit, and in a fit of rage, Thor summons Mjolnir one last time, and breaks it slaying Mangog. Then Thor's gonna mourn for his lost hammer and his lost love while Odin decides that the Asgardians need the equivalent power of that hammer in order for Asgardia to be safe in the future. Odin then sets Thor on a mission to go find some lost relics that are as powerful as Mjolnir was. Aaron's not gonna stop until Kirby does a full 720 in his grave.

King Thor is what has me thinking differently, there are several instances (thanos ongoing, etc) where we see him silver armed. Maybe this is a new direction and thats just an alt future.
in any event Jane has been too instrumental in change in Asgard to simply just die without long term effects. Shes becoming the Diana of Marvel and is so much more that what Carol has ever been its ridiculous.
i like your bonding with mother storm idea as well

i agree up to the Odin part. I dont think his character can be salvaged. He is getting the Nick Fury treatment
see, some REASONABLE discussion regarding the issue. nice. kmc'ers are on fire today. 😂
anyway, i actually didn't mind the issue. in general, i found the whole jane arc to have been been exceptional in many parts. do i wish there would have been a different "ending" to the book? yeah. i'd like to have seen some cool, never-before-used power of the hammer maybe, something that further cemented jane's relationship to it, but i still think it was handled well overall, and am not willing in any way to comment on anything that seems 'final'. do i think the hammer is destroyed? no. would i be shocked and appalled if it was? no. disappointed that it ended in such an anti-climactic way? yes, for sure. but like i said, i don't think we've seen the last of the hammer.
it was forged in the heart of a star though (as per new telling) so is it ridiculous a star melts it? not from that pov maybe. be great if thor's being worthy is tied with jane's death somehow, and that he regains the hammer upon its return.
still lots of directions this COULD go. i for one am pretty excited to see where it finishes. /shrug
Man, trolling the two Thor morons really turned serious here.
Even if the sun destroyed Mangog/Mjolnir, people DO know that's not the be-all-end-all, right?
I mean, sure, Superman's heat vision would literally one-shot all of Asgard if they stood back to back, but he's still a good fight for...Starfire and the like. If she's holding back.
There's still hope.
Bringing up Thor and the Sun from Superman fans is like Thor fans bringing up Superman magic weakness against Vampire and werewolves. I don't know why they are clinging to one showing as if it wipes out Thor and Mjlonir entire history...especially with us having Thor being inside the Sun on multiple occasions.
