Have they ever done an arc where Mikey/Donny where the lead?
In the cartoon, it’s said though Mikey is a jokester, he is just as deadly, if not more since he mastered the most difficult of the weapons.
Though I would say, Mikey did seem to be the lead in the live action films.

tbf, leo is the only one who practices it, as far as I remember. but could you post some scans showing that they all practice it?
oh and I agree with you, but favoring it being donny tbh, or maybe they just dont show who it is in the entire arc, while they show him using/mastered all four weapons
