Yeah IIRC he was even build up like that. The event is overall not so well written and the art actually sucks too, which is really unfortunate since it originally started out to be quiete good in both art and story.

idk I liked how carnage was depicted. But the venoms not so much. Magneto’s head got cut and Thor got cut in half. Didn’t know marvel comics were this gory. Thought I was reading image comics for a second. I just read issue #6 but im going to go back and read the others now.
