To be fair, if you (Osbourne) are part of a team where you are the weakest member, can you really get away with bringing in someone even weaker than yourself? I love Taskmaster and all, but I'd honestly refuse to even go if I were him. Even Ares wouldve looked less out of place.

Seems a lot of writers leave out that he's a powerful sorcerer. I don't recall reading many FF issues where it featured prominently that didn't revolve around his mother's soul and/or feature Mephisto and its almost always left out in adaptations.
well currently doom used a combination of science and magic to make the equivalent of the destroyer armor in the thor issues.
