ghost poisoned him with argonite, before that moment they werent doing much real damage to him.

Still seems strange that Moonstone's energy blast was able to cancel his out to some degree.

If they keep doing this (assuming KH isn't dead from this encounter) King Hyperion won't be impressive anymore and beating him will become meaningless.

Maybe that way people will stop thinking King Hyperion is uber only because he killed heroes in alternate earths. It's going to be like a living example of how other worlds can be lame.

must not look... didn't know 153 was out yet...

meh, for as nice as it was to see Man-Thing do... something (I do like that they are brining out the mystic side of him though), they have totally nerfed his regeneration.

I can't wait to see the next 2 issues though. A dr strange crossover and MT heavy story

To be fair though the King Hyperion that appeared on those alternate Earths always seemed more uber than the watered down one we've seen on 616. His HF for instance didn't appear to exist at all in his fight with Blue Marvel.

yeah they watered him down, but it did serve a point as it showed a bunch of metas beating the shit out of a herald through superior determination, tactical thinking and clever use of power. the way each of the three contributed to it was brilliant. they really came together as a family of terrifying psychos, completely destroying an ultrapowered monster. the man-thing bit at the end was poetic. jeff parker is doing a great job handling both the the anti-heroic and the utterly villanous. ghost, jugs and even moonstone have sympathetic traits and some ethical dimensions balancing out their craziness and character flaws. their foils and enemies make them look even better by comparison - an old storytelling trick - and have also been well explored like crossbones and hyperion. I like the way man-thing is being handled as a thing outside the scope of moral consiuderations, too neutral to be grouped with anybody else and bizarrely aware. Also digging the TBs internal group dynamics. the one thing I cant stand in the book are the heroic characters, cage is fine but the other three suck balls. theyre boring and serve no point in the cast or the storylines.

its been a notably good book, eh?

yup. started following it when osborne promoted his tbolts to avengers and called the z-listers in as the new t-bolts. of course, the only good thing to come out of that run was ghost who hs become one my favourite marvel characters, but the current run has been superb. wish they'd just drop the heroes and keep a smaller cast of 5 characters including cage and the tbolts. the troll should be added next month, well see how it turns out.

ya, the troll has been surprisingly interesting for me, given I normally could pass on anything Asgardian.

The run immediatly before that, where Osborn starts losing his mind and puts the Goblin gear back on is also fantastic. But ya, the current one would be better if they focused on a smaller cast.

When did king hype get owned because from that fight that I just witnessed with him fighting jugs, he was stomping.

If yoy all are referring to the prep that took him out of the fight... that's not owning.

I think his main jobbing moment was Moonstone matching his blast.

I don't think she's ever been at that level before in terms of blast power.

I agree with that since he has one shotted hulk, vision, namora, and magneto with it. I can't explain that. I just think it was an writer error.

It sucks seeing Juggernaut get bloodied and bruised so easily.

His durability is absolute shit now.

Hype just stomps Cain's knee while his feet are raised off the ground, and somehow that had enough power to cave Jugg's knee in.
