Why the hell would they cancel GOTG?
Over at our site we've been corresponding with Tom Brevoort. One of the guys brought up the fact that Nova and gotg sold a little over 40k between them which is better or on par with a lot of other books that they keep going. Here are his words...

Me: Joe Q said sales weren't a main factor in canceling Nova and GoTG. Can you tell Axel, we would like them back, please. http://www.comicbookresources.com/?p...ticle&id=25584

TB: Sorry, but this wouldn't do you any good. And the math is pretty easy to figure out if you think about it: sales weren't a main factor in those titles ending, which means that something else must have been. And that something else is still extant. Relax, cool your jets, all will be well given enough time.

Take that for whatever its worth.

That's fan ownage 😐

Seriously, I mean, those words hopefully would leave the future open for a comeback, but it's strange that they just sway away from that question so shamelessly...

They should've kept Bedard.

Damn right. Exiles was my favorite book until Claremont ruined the entire series

Especially under Claremont. He wrecked it with his usual stock of characters and heavy-handed use of Claremontisms.

I 100% agree, I finally dropped the book under his run and I had every issue until then

Oh they had a reason. It wasn't Wolverine, Deadpool, or any of the other street level stuff that they love so much lol! Moonknight getting another book yet? 😂

Hasn't Joe Q said on record he doesn't/didn't much like the cosmic aspect of Marvel?

Shame, because I've really been delving into cosmic stuff over the past few years and there's little to offer in the current state of Marvel.

Dmills... that f***** up. That was years ago. I've worked out hard and have lost a lot of weight since then. See...

Well you've got Annihilators this week right? Astonishing Thor has been excellent thus far. Other then that you're S.O.L.

I feel your pain bro, but it is what it is. After all, Brevoort is the same guy who said this...

Q: Are the editors responsible for allowing something as silly as Black Panther putting Silver Surfer in an armbar? Or should the writer take all the blame?

TB: At the end of the day, the buck stops with the editor. And as the editor of that specific issue of FANTASTIC FOUR, I don't have a problem with that sequence as depicted.

😆

^ Yeah, I've got Annihilator's on my pull list and Astonishing Thor, too. It's just a shame it's all relegated to minis and random events. I could honestly give a flying phuck for most street level titles, tbh outside of stuff like Avengers.

idk, I find monthly's get stale.

I'd love to see more from cosmics too, and am achually checking out astonishing thor on your guys suggestion, but if they could do it as set stories with a beginning and end, rather than some open ended thing, I think that might ensure better quality overall. Events I agree with you on, though. They don't tend to end up well imho

I personally prefer mini series under the right circumstances.
