I think he was magically negating the force of the blast while floating on water to the shore. The Namor fight and a bit of the Scott fight happen off panel. I think Scott was hitting him with a continious blast him from across the bay for a while.

He seems to have Psychokinetic abilities, so it's possible he tk force fielded it... but I think he just tanked it.
