help with the lord of the rings game

hi all
well im a bit stuck on th first game the fellowship, its where im under the willow tree in the forest i cant get out . so how do i get out with outr being killed????

either kill everyone, or it might be a part where you break the bark from the tree. its a pretty linear game, so you probably just have to kill a shitload of guys if you havent accidentally broke the bark cuz its right in front of you.
