Peter Jackson should adapt Dune!

Peter Jackson and WETA should set their sites on a big screen adaptation of Frank Herbert's Dune series. That would be a challenging undertaking, but I think Peter could pull it off. After seeing the LOTR and King Kong, I can think of no one better suited for a proper and faithful adaptation of this series.

hmm... but Dune has allot of religiouse and political undertones... im not sure if he could handle it. and seeing as how hes planning on making King Kong a Trilogy, it would take a while for him to adapt it. Besides, i think JAckson would like to make a film based off his own ideas for a change.

He "revealed" that they were already starting production on "King Kong: Son Of Kong" and "King Kong: Into the Wolf's Lair". Both films, supposedly to be released in 2006, contained the principal characters riding Son of Kong, strapping machine guns to his back and fighting Hitler's genetically mutated creatures. The film was going to be produced under the banner of "Big Primate Productions". Peter Jackson has been known to pull pranks of this sort before; see Forgotten Silver (1995) (TV).

i doubt it. i saw signs in this king kong that would explain the world war two them of the possible sequal. for instance the random scenes with The black shipmate and the kid, how he kept telling the kid about how he was in the war and such. but then again thats my speculation. all i know is that i heard "triligy" come out of peter jacksons mouth. and i havent heard him deny it.

I give you a 'No sequel garantee'.

The Relationship between the Man and the kid was supposed to be symbolic for A parent-like relationship. And when he died it showed how one person struggles to get over his fathers death. Which is also demonstrated in a different and more powerful way between Anne and Kong. I don't think there will ever be a sequel because, Peter Jackson is WAY to smart to ruin a classic movie by making add-ons. He is also on a hiatus, and when he gets back he will work on his next film titled "The Lovely Bones" (2007) and Executive produce "Halo".

I want Jackson working on more Tolkien projects, like The Hobbit, and comic book material ( like The Mighty Thor), rather than Dune.

Dune was boring enough. And yep. Heard he was interested in doing The Hobbit. Something I'd like to see be done. I think I remember reading something about him doing it after he did Kong. Might be wrong on that though, anyone?

I read dune for ten minutes and was bored out of my skull , if we want a book adapted give jackson terry pratchetts 'guards guards' .....

Jackson should adapt a Masters of the Universe movie. that would be great....he could get together an awesome cast and it would rule ass...

PJ should worry about Halo. Nuff said.

This actually isn't a halfbad idea.

Dune has already been made into a film by the Sci-Fi channel. They have also made Children of Dune.

David Lynch did a great job on Dune. Jackson would ruin it.
