I remember reading about how Maul was always disgusted by everyone cause nobody was worthy enough except him and Palpatine and how he thought that if it took killing everyone on Coruscant to fulfill his Master's bidding he'd do it gladly and heartlessly without thinking twice about it even as impossible a task it may seem. No enemy was to great threat to Maul no matter how dangerous. He had no fear.

Sidious once thought that he might've installed to much grounded hatred inside Maul and was concerned if it would some day cloud him. Which it did.

He's the definition of a true Sith warrior. The Force just wasn't with him at his moment of death. Darth Maul Rules
