it's even stated in Ultimate X-Men by Jean that he is 500 lbs...And One ton is a bit too much...A car is 1.5 ton...A haevier one for example a Volvo S60 is about 1.7 tons a Cherokee Jeep is about 2-2.3 tons...And a car is about 4 meters long or more...Colossus is 7'5" and that's 2.2 meters...A Volvo S60 which is tough car, the tank of the sedans is 4.5 meters land, wights normally 1500 kilos that 3000 lbs, it's width is about 1.8-1.9 meters....So No. I simply can't believe Colossus can be one ton.

Colossus is a foot shorter in Ultimate X-men. He's only 6'5". 616 Colossus is 7'5".

The only instances that 616 Colossus is stated as weighing a ton is in Excalibur. Virtually every other reference states him as 500 lbs.

Firstly, I doubt he's solid, pure steel. Really. He wouldn't be able to move. He'd be a statue. The term "organic steel" suggests to me that all the natural molecules of his body are bonded to metal, making a half metal - half organic molecule which weighs significantly less than ordinary steel.

Secondly, bio-energy is constantly flowing through his body. Assuming that the energy has to flow through channels, Colossus probably isn't one big block of solid organic metal.

All in all, I'd give the edge to 500 lbs on those two points. Either way, I point to the "suspension of belief" rule of comics.

Well Colossus bones, eyes, etc. turn to steel. That's been stated in comics many times. Plus the original handbook that came out had him at 500lbs. When Mags upgraded Colossus he gained extra mass and strength and that's been stated also.

Anyways It does not really matter how much a character weighs I guess. It's not really important.

Okay snoop you got it. Hey man I just checked out a wight of an express train. You know Colossus stops one in Ultimate X-Men #10. An express train normally waights about 200-250 tons. And that was a pretty big one. So about 300 tons plus it was going with full speed...

Well, I finally finished going through this thread and being a Colussus fan I must say I loved it. There's so many things I've heard and read about Colussus but never was never able to actually see until now. There is one thing other thing I wanted to see though. Apparently, there was an incident where Colossus was actually impaled by a spear after some acid or something was spewed upon him. Sound familiar?

Yea I know what your talking about. It happened in Uncanny #155.

So what happened exactly that allowed for Colossus to be impaled? How serious was the wound and how did he recover?

Uncanny X-Men #109 - Guardian from Alpha Flight plays tough guy...Well Colossus is just stronger. He tries to shoot at Colossus and hurt him, it just didn't work out...

He had some acid thrown on him then it started to eat through his chest then Storm tried to wash the acid out with rain. Then shortly after he was stabbed by Deathbird. He obviously survived the wounds though.

I can post scans later or maybe Rewmac can get scans from #155 and 156.

yeah I do that snoop 😄

Requested scans:

Uncanny #155 - being taken down -- Dirty little tricks...

Uncanny #156

Cured and back into combat mode 😄 And some info on how he was attacked...

Back into full power...

In X-Men Unlimited #22 - Rips up and goes through a solid thick iron door....

In X-Men Unlimited #29 - He rips up a side of a train to make an exit...

That was a city train. And it weights about a hundred tons. Spidey was struggling to even slow it down. Colossus just stepped in front of a 300 tons express train and stopped it without him moving. Express trains even in the early 90's weight about 200 tons empty....I made some calculation and some facts of trains that train is about 300-320 tons...So the chart you gave is wrong. Very wrong....

And I seriously doubt that Colossus weights one ton. 500 kilos is okay but one ton...Anyway that doesn't even matter.

Uncanny X-men #168 Colossus takes a blast from a Sidri bounty hunter and walks up to it and smashes it.

Uncanny X-men #170 Colossus is tied up with a rope.(Not very smart) All he does in turn to steel and bust out of the rope then proceeds to clobber Sunder.(Sunder is a tough one)

The later in the issue when Colossus is caught again they chain him up this time. Well he easily beaks out of the seel chains again.

Uncanny X-men #180 Colossus impresses Wolverine in human form by chopping down a tree with one arm.

Then he turns to steel and then rips the roots right out of the ground with one arm.(He was injured during this too.)

Uncanny X-men #237 Colossus uses his steel body to shield some fellow X-men from heavy machine gun fire.

I still find it hard to belive that some acid could eat right through Colossus. Molten lava doesn't do squat to him.

And how is it that he got a broken arm from the Brotherhood as shown in the scans right above?
