Your right. The X-jet is kinda big iteslf.

And Colossus was not struggling at all either. I just re-checked and the Jet was 2 miles from shore.

He dragged a 90 ton plane from the bottom of the sea two miles to shore, thats pretty dam impressive. Their blackbird can seat all the xmen, while a regular SR-71 can just seat to 2. It gotta weigh more than 80 tons. anything to boost the big russian's feats...(smiles)

Colossus is underestimated in the Marvel, and Ultimate Marvel universe I think it's time they show him do something really crazy.

I just did some research. In Uncanny # 154 the X-jet was stated as weighing 77,000 kilos. Which is around 85 tons.

So being the jet was soaked with water it's safe to say it weighed around 100 tons.

Impressive feat considering the circumstances.

Here's a 616 Colossus article

Colossus (Piotr "Peter" Nikolaievitch Rasputin) is a comic book superhero in the Marvel Comics universe and a member of the X-Men. Created by Len Wein and Dave Cockrum, he first appeared in Giant-Size X-Men #1 (May 1975).

Character biography

Joining the X-Men
Colossus was born in the Ust-Ordynski Collective farm, near Lake Baikal, Siberia, Russian SFSR, Soviet Union to Nikolai Rasputin and his wife Alexandra Natalya Rasputina. He had an older brother, Mikhail Nikolaievitch Rasputin and would later have a younger sister, Illyana Nikolaievna Rasputina. Piotr nick-named her "Snowflake" and grew very protective of her.

A gentle young man surrounded by good people, even the revelation that he was a mutant did not ostracize Piotr him from his friends and family. So he was reluctant to leave Russia when Professor Charles Xavier recruited him for his second group of X-Men. He went nonetheless taking the codename Colossus.

Colossus found friendship with the X-Men and even love in an ongoing romance with Kitty Pryde, Shadowcat. They had a steady relationship for several years. During the Secret Wars, Colossus had an affair with a healer who later was killed. Feeling guilty, Colossus broke up with Kitty when he returned home. The two made up later and are now friends, even though their relationship is currently platonic.

Colossus also felt great guilt when his sister Illyana proved to be a mutant as well and was trapped in the dimension Limbo for several years of her life, emerging to become the heroine Magik.

When Illyana later died by the Legacy virus and his parents were killed crossing the border, his grief drove him to join their enemy, Magneto. Later, he realized his mistake and returned to the team, but he retained deep bitterness about the loss he had suffered throughout his life. He later joined Excalibur.

Death and resurrection

Colossus injects himself with the cure. Uncanny X-Men #390When Beast finally developed a cure for the Legacy virus there was one problem; a mutant would have to give his life to activate the cure. Against the wishes of his fellow X-Men, Colossus injected himself with the cure so that no more mutants would have to die as his sister had. The X-Men found what appeared to be his lifeless corpse and believed him dead.

Colossus returns. In fact, an alien known as Ord abducted Colossus as he lay dying and resuscitated him. Ord kept Colossus imprisoned in a laboratory, using him as a guinea pig for tests to develop a 'cure' for the mutant gene. When the X-Men recently raided the lab, Kitty Pryde found and freed Colossus. Colossus then proceeded to pummel Ord mercilessly.

Colossus has since returned to the X-Men. He and Kitty seem to be trying to rekindle their relationship.

Powers and abilities
Colossus possesses the ability to transform his entire body into a form of organic steel, named by some sources as analogous to Osmium but of still unknown composition.

In this transformed state, Colossus' body gains around a foot in additional height and his body mass is at least doubled. The source of Colossus' gain in height and muscle mass is unknown but possibly extradimensional.

While in his armored form, Colossus possesses significant superhuman strength. As a teenager, Colossus was able to lift (press) 70 tons. As he matured and further developed his powers, he's now in "Class 100" Power Level (able to lift in excess of 100 tons). The full limit of his strength has never been revealed. Aside from this great strength, in his steel form he possesses a high degree of invulnerability to conventional injury. Colossus' armored form can withstand extreme temperatures, falls from great heights, high caliber machine gun shells and large amounts of explosives without sustaining injury.

A side effect of his armor's strength enhancing effect is a vastly greater muscle efficiency than an ordinary human. While armored, his muscles generate considerably less lactic acids than those of ordinary humans granting him superhuman levels of stamina in all activities. He can exert himself at peak capacity for several days before fatigue begins to impair him. Colossus' armored form is also invulnerable to rusting under Earthly conditions. Colossus has demonstrated very little need, if any, to breathe while he is in his armored state and there's no known limit as to how long he can remain in this form. His Armored form has shown great resestance to Magical spells and has proven to be especially harmful to Magical beings such as when he faced a manifistation of Babba Yaga and when he faced The Advasary.

Colossus cannot transform a single portion of his body into this armored state, he must either be completely transformed or remain within his normal state. If Colossus is rendered unconscious, he will automatically revert to his normal state

Colossus eats up some lazers that are highly advanced Shi'ar tech here. I would imagine if Colossus can handle these he can handle just about anything. I had heard that these lazers were able to stop Gladiator. It may be false or it may be true. If anybody knows for sure please inform us.

Adamantium is a virtually indestructible man-made steel alloy which does not occur in nature and whose exact chemical composition is a United States government classified secret. Adamantium is not an element: its properties do not qualify it for any know space on the Periodic Table of Elements. Rather, Adamantium is a series of closely related compounds of iron created through a secret process discovered by the American metallurgist Dr. Myron MacLain.

MacLain began experimenting with the process that created Adamantium as a young scientist in the employ of the United States government in the early 1940s. Assigned to create a super-metal with which to build tanks, MacLain labored for month, experimenting with various iron alloys. One of his experiments utilized the rare meteoric ore now known as Wakandan Vibranium. He tried to fuse the Vibranium to the iron alloy numerous times without success. Then one night when he dozed off, some as yet unknown factor entered the process, and permitted the fusion to occur. Upon discovering his success, MacLain poured the molten metal into a disc-shaped mold. The disc, once solidified, has proven to be the most impervious object ever created on Earth. MacLain turned the discover to the government and it was given to Captain America to use as his shield. Neither MacLain nor anyone else has ever been able to discover what was the x-factor that entered the process, or has been able to fuse Vibranium with another metal. (The unknown iron-Vibranium alloy of which the shield is composed resembles True Adamantium, although Adamantium itself contains no Vibranium,)

Over the following decades MacLain experimented, attempting to duplicate the process that create the shield. Finally, in recent years, he succeeded in developing the process by which the substance known as True Adamantium is created. True Adamantium is nearly as strong as Captain America's shield, and is, for all practical purpose, indestructible. The degree of impermeability varies directly with the thickness of the Adamantium. A direct blow from Thor's hammer, conveyed with the thunder god's full strength, will slightly dent a solid cylinder of True Adamantium. A sufficient mass of Adamantium could survive a direct hit from a nuclear weapon.

Adamantium is created through the mixing of certain chemical resins whose composition is a United States government secret. For eight minutes after the resins are mixed, the Adamantium can be molded into a particular shape as long as it is kept at a temperature of 1,500 degrees Fahrenheit. After this brief period the process of creating Adamantium is completed. The extremely stable molecular structure of the Adamantium prevents it from being molded further, even if the temperature remains high enough to keep it in liquefied form. Only a device celled a Molecular Rearranger can alter the form of hardened Adamantium.

The United States government has shared the secret of Adamantium's composition with certain of its allies, and the secret has also fallen into the hands of various criminals, such as the Constrictor, who has made special weaponry from Adamantium. Wolverine possesses artificial claws made of True Adamantium and his bones have been fused with Adamantium in an unexplained manner so as to greatly increase their tensile strength. The outer portion of the robotic body of Ultron is also composed entirely of True Adamantium, although Ultron's inner mechanisms are not.

Adamantium is extraordinarily expensive to produce. Therefore, certain parties who wish to use Adamantium on a large scale have resorted to utilizing a similar but somewhat weaker compound similar to True Adamantium called Secondary Adamantium. Although Secondary Adamantium is still far stronger than even titanium steel, it can be destroyed by sufficiently great amounts of force. Blastaar's energy discharges and the vibratory force created by the Overkill Horn have both proved able to destroy Secondary Adamantium. The sentient computer known as F.A.U.S.T. had a casing made of Secondary Adamantium which Thor and Iron Man managed to destroy. The Red Skull and the original Hate-Monger had a dome of Secondary Adamantium constructed to protect their island fortress but the dome was destroyed by the vibratory force of the Overkill Horn and by powerful incendiary bombs.

First Appearance: AVENGERS #66.

Ok read the article above it states that a large amount of adamantium is able to withstand a nuke, and a hit from Thors hammer without sustaining major damage. If you think about it Colossus survived a nuke with no damage at all he hasn't survived a hit from Thor, but according to the article he can. So if only large amounts of adamantium can suvive a blast from a nuke does this mean that Ultimate Colossus armor is as strong as 616 adamantium? according to the article yes

The article is from the Marvel directory

so what do ya think

nope. his skin is still hasn't shown to be as strong as 616 God metal.

Small nuke that only took out 20 feet of area and the fact that the We don't even know yet if Thor in ultimates is even Magic. He's also not as strong as his 616 counterpart so the Mjollnir feat really is debatable.

Why do you think it seems as if so many of the Ultimate characters are not as strong as there 616 counterparts?

Do you know that there not for a fact?

Is Marvel screwing up Ultimate Thor's character

The reason it seems that so many characters are weaker is because Mark Millar trys to make evrything so damn realistic.

I was saying is that if only large amounts of 616 Adamantium can withstand a nuke, than Ultimate Colossus either isn't too far off from adamantium or is just as strong. Now if that article is incorrect than as it I am to, but if its not than I make a valid point do I not? Ultimate Colossus if you think about it has been damaged by nothing yes he may have been ko'd a few times but he has never truly been damaged not by Thors hammer, not by sentinels, not by lava, not even by a nuke which is suppose to be able to destroy 616 adamantium.

Do you think Colossus can be riped in half by Ultimate Hulk?

The fact the he has yet to show anything even in 616 thors strength range.

And he's not making it to realistic in terms of strenght. Just the characters personalities environments and the way the GOV would actually react to supers. And wasn't he the one that gave Ultimate colossus the Submarine Underwater feat?

Adamantuim is way stronger even in small amounts. I'd say a small tiny block can probably withstand a full nuke without a scratch. And I mean a FULL nuke. the kind that wipe out cites. Not the ones that clear a 20 foot area.

And thats not even counting the new grade stronger version of adamantuim that hasn't been tested yet.

Do I think Ultimate colossus can be ripped by ultimate hulk? No. But what does this have to do with adamantuim strength?

I was just asking if you think Ultimate Colossus could be riped in half by hulk.

The Ultimate Marvel Universe version of the mighty Thor is either the son of Odin sent to Midgard (Earth) to save it from apathy and self-destruction or a lunatic, although Magneto has strongly hinted that he beleaved him to be a mutant.

Ultimate Thor was a psychiatric nurse called Thorlief, until he suffered a mental breakdown and spent 18 months institutionalized. When he was released, he claimed to be Thor, Norse god of thunder, and attracted rebellious teenagers and conspiracy theorists with his speeches and self-help books. He has spoken against America's military aggression against other world powers.

When General Nick Fury contacted him about joining the Ultimates, Thor refused to work for the military-industrial complex that he detests. When the Hulk appeared in Manhattan, Thor refused to lend his aid unless the President doubled the foreign aid budget. When his request was met, Thor intervened, giving the team the time to inject the Hulk with the antidote that turned him back into Bruce Banner.

Thor was the first to report that the Chitauri base in Micronesia had been long abandoned. Upon arriving at the base in Arizona, Thor and Iron Man provided air support against the Chitauri spacecraft until the Air Force arrived. When Iron Man was called down to deal with the Chitauri bomb, Thor unleashed a massive electrical burst, blasting every alien craft around him, much to General Fury's amazement, who thought he was a pacifist; Thor corrected him: "A pacifist with a big, scary hammer." Iron Man asked Thor to help him dispose of the bomb that would obliterate the entire solar system, so Thor teleported it to the wastes of Nastrond; its detonation caused only a small ripple in space-time.

Later, Thor ceased aiding the Ultimates, feeling they were too much puppets. He also began speaking to apparitions of other Asgardians only he could see.

When an Italian demonstration against the European Defence Initiative's super-soldier program turned violent, Thor intervened. The Ultimates learned from the EDI's head scientist, Gunnar Golmen, Thorlief's brother, that Thor had stolen the technology that gives him his powers, and they tracked him to Norway to take him into custody. The technology was a weather control device in the form of a hammer and a power belt that grants super strength to the user. Thor told them that Gunnar was actually Loki, but they attacked him anyway. He shrugged off whatever they threw at him, until Quicksilver managed to remove his belt, and Thor came crashing to the ground. He now occupies Bruce Banner's cell in the Triskelion, where Gunnar/Loki taunted him about the existence of a traitor within the Ultimates' ranks. In Ultimates v2 #9, Loki confurmed that Thor is indeed a Norse God, as he joined an opposing force to The Ultimates under the idea that if The Ultimates have a Norse God on their side, so should it's opposion.

What do you think.

still no proof that he is Magical and in Thors Strength range. Having stolen tech as your prime source of power seeing gods only you can see and the only proof that your a God coming from a villain isn't really proof of him being a God. But who knows. Maybe in the next couple of issues they will turn around and say that he is a real God.

Either way. he still hasn't shown the Strength and Magical abilities of 616 Thor.

For all we know Ultimate Thor got his Hammer at the 99cent store.

well you asked me what I thought about it. I told you.

I think he should be a god, but you know he probably wont be.

I don't know what kind of firepower the Blackbird has but Colossus can walk right through it with ease.

Notice Wolverine hiding behind him once again.
