Cascade looked up at the clear sky and sighed. She was on the roof of the school gym, pressing a strawberry into her small mouth. A sigh escaped from her throat as she looked over the edge of the building to see a few friends messing around. She forced herself not to remember. She heard a soft cooing noise behind her and turned to see a familiar black bird perched behind her. His talons held stead fast onto the rail.
" You again?" she asked. This bird had been following her scince she arrived at red river...it turned up everywhere. Even in her dorm once or twice. Cascade stepped towards the large, winged animal. odd... he had the same eyes as Cascade's. Pausing, she closed her large eyes.
" I think im going insane to think youll understand me...but you can stay with me if youd really like." She opened her eyes again as the animal happily called out, an earsplitting noise, and jumped onto her shoulder. Rolling her eyes she uncomfortably batted her small white wings, and sat back.

Kenesu kept his eyes on her, before turning his attention to his food. Taking his apple as well, he slowly took a bite chewing it. Turning his attention back to Kari he slowly let off a smile. "Yeah, it's a nice day." He kept his smile slowly returning his attention to the apple he was eating. She must of been hungry, he was a slow eater after all. Taking another bite of his apple. Finishing that bite he spoke again keeping some form of eye contact with her. "Did you hear about the dance?" His ears twitched slowly at having even enough courage to mention it towards this friend he had just made. A light tinge of red blush played along his nose almost, quickly taking another bite of his apple, he hopefully managed to conceal it.

Kari looked at Kenesu and giggled a bit. She nodded her head, remembering that Ayuka and her had talked about it last night in their dorm. She closed her eyes, remembering Ayuka and her conversation the night before.
"So Kari, the dance is coming up, who're you taking?"
"I dont think I'm going with anyone..."
"You're joking! I'm going to find you a date if it kills me! Which it will."
"Hey, that isn't nice."
"Gah! Neither is throwing popcorn into a girl's hair that she JUST WASHED!"
"heehee, sorry Ayuka."
"Urg, you wont be laughing once I get my hands on your Ranma plushie."
"No! My ranma!"
"Ha ha! Well, dont pick on someone like me then."
"So, Ayuka, who are you taking?"
"Hm... Well, if you tell anyone this I will kill you! Well... try to anyways. I wanna take Kel."
"Really?!"
"Sh! Now, let's get off the subject, who wants a cookie!"
Kari had to giggle. Ayuka was her best and closest friend. Yet, she was afraid that she may not find a date. She looked up at Kenesu, suprised he had even mentioned the dance. She blinked a little and looked down at her pizza, nibbling on a pepperoni to give her time to think. She slowly began to nod, a little naiive about the whole "asking out" thing. She looked at Kenesu and smiled as she asked, "Are you going with anyone? You'd probably be a really good date." She had no idea that she had just expressed a little bit of her crush. Well, if you could call it that. Yes, probably. Crush. That fit the emotion well. Kari added, "The girl you take will probably be really, really lucky." Her tail wagged, her mind still unknowing of the words her lips had just formed.
