I think DD's definetly dead. I've been to that "Dumbledore is Not Dead" site, and I think it's all a far fetched load of rubbish.
The only people who try that hard to pick itty bitty details out of a book that have no meaning and turn it into something that doesn't even make sense to themselves, are in denial. Or just they just have a lot of free time.
Maybe its like Obi Wan's line to Vader: "If you strike me down, I shall become more powerful than you could possibly imagine".
Maybe Dumbledore had prepared for death, but knew something important that no one else did that would make him...I dont know...what word would I be looking for...stronger or something...you know where Im going anyway...
But I still stick to DD biting the bullet and getting done.

aww man...I really wanted to the believe that site. (I mean, I still do)
But if you read carefully throughout all six books, you can see that JKR write in such a fasion that tells you one thing but mean another. I don't know if you feel the same but that's how I think, yeah

As for Dumbledore's death being funny, I thought, after relooking on the matter, it was pretty funny.
Not all theories are far-fetched.

this is a theory that contains gesses to hp book 7

In book 2 the chamber of secrets when harry was down in the chamber he said something of such loyalty to dumbledore (dd) tha fawks the phenoix showed up to help him
so fawkes shows up wen loyalty is served to dd
then in book 5 the order of the pheniox fawkes shows up to save dd from that avada kedavra curse so this also mean that he shows up when dd needs him.
so y didint fawkes show up wen dd needed him most when the avada kedavra was being shot rite at him by snape
my theory is tat dd ordered fawkes not to act and tat he had t stand down and not help him or harry.
