To answer, the goal of a species is to reproduce and sustain itself. Therefore, until the only way any of us can live is to eat each other, we must seek an alternate source of food. Otherwise, our individual-above-the-species actions will set a precedent reevaluating the goal of a species, destroying the concept of natural selection and eventually destroying life on the planet kthxbye
