Opium Trail (an ironic title and set of lyrics for a song considering) understand his "love" in the "my love" lyric is Opium

I took a line that leads you to the opium trail
Oriental eyes reveal the lies, deceit, betrayal
On this journey behold one who travels far
You called him fool but now you are

The wizard wanders through the world made from dreams
The splashing whirlpool drowns the frightened streams
Exotic dancers, flashing lancers, this mysterious space
The fanfare advances, the warlord falls from grace

It clears your pain
But It's got you claimed again, my love
You feel the need but it lets you bleed
You must concede, my love

No one to blame, no shame
You crave again and again, my love
No used to plead from you
It feeds on your greed, my love

I took a line that comes from the golden states of Shan
The smugglers trail that leads to the opium den
The Chinese connection refines to heroin
Depart the heart you crave again

It clears your pain
You soul is claimed again, my love
You feel the need, it lets you bleed
You must concede, my love

No one to blame, no shame
You crave again and again, my love
No use to plead
From you it feeds, my love

That's gonna be news to Joni.

I would say Jeff Buckley.

Hendrix, while a great singer, is primarily a sad loss because of his ability on guitar at such a young age.

god damn

why did i always think she was dead?

who knows how my mind works...oh well

Selena,

Her career was just taking off.

But, her death made her even more famous.

Johnny Thunders
Layne Staley
Aliyah (sp)
Gene Vincent (i think was on the same plane as Buddy Holly and Richie Valens)

Johnny Cash - He wasn't young but I would have enjoyed him making more songs therefore he was too young.

Kurt Cobain
Jeff Buckley...

there's probably more to add to my list....but im tired and can't be bothered making my mind think more...

Bob Marley.
Also co sign Otis Redding and Sam Cooke.

He wasn't too young though. He was an old man.

Jeff was young and already held one of the best albums ever under his belt.
