Her family was celebrating when they were attacked by a large group of fire benders, who left everyone but Kohaku masacared. Horrified by the sights and memories, Kohaku fled her town, going somewhere, anywhere to escape the horrible things she blames herself for. She was also always very close with the wolves near there village, who were said to have magical air powers. She never believed it, but she loved them like family.
