Well I think the Symbiote knew what hurt it so It would have told Brock when it bonded with him what could distress and possibly kill it but did he listen no even in the comics he uses strength without thinking things through or fights him in a place where sonics can be used I mean it becomes a part of him so he should know the benefits and weaknesses and what it will be like together but his ignorance cost's him his life and a lot of pain since it's double pain.
A good true opponent always expects the unexpected and plans for the unimaginable they treat there opponents with respect and caution they research, study there moves there techniques they play fair and never underestimate there opponents abilities or strengh and always expect another player to join the fight.

I mean without the symbiote he is nothing if it dies then so does his power and to a degree his friend who aids and guides him
Precisely everything was going good he was winning top of the world if harry had not intervened They would have won and celebrated their victory and a new more efficient hero would have been born but he lost the gamble and as such his friend, his other half, his life and soul was taken and he could not bear that as such he went with it trying to save it instead the symbiote was more bothered about re-bonding with Brock and to be fair I think it knew it was going to die but they died together and Brock did not even get a funeral or something to say he existed
