well, what about Dr. Hootinanny, she's got allergies, i think allegra is a drug. and they coulda use some sorta chemical compound drug. they didn't just blow crack onto the spiders and say, "SUPER SPIDERS!!"

who knows, all i know is that someone somewhere got there powers from it. Therefore proving that peter was eating trash, ergo he had woken up from a dream, because he was high, and that was caused by the blowing of the crack on the spider that bit peter... MAN I'M AWESOME!
