Although Aayla was trained by a very proficient Master Vos, I don't see her coming out of this one. From what we have seen so far of Mundi, He displays better skills as a Jedi.

I can imagine his Age also grants him more Experience as well. And he didn't get the rank of Master for doing nothing.

Regardless, Mundi's attention was totally elsewhere, with the battle, explosions and all. Aayla was walking like she was in a park on a sunday afternoon. That should tell you something.

Aayla is a rather good fighter, after all, she did defeat Aurra Sing, didn't she? she was also trained by Vos. Ki-Adi-Mundi may be very good, but he isn't good enough to whoop her. And I don't think he's a Makashi master...

Except for Dooku being mentioned as the only living Makashi master of that time in numerous sources... So yeah we have evidence against that.

And yes, Makashi is Ki-Adi's preferred stlye. Like his 2 senior collegues, he is a master of multiple styles (something Aayla is NOT ), but he selects the one that most fits his physique, personality, and over-all preference. It was mentioned that Mundi used Form II in the Clone Wars book where he became Anakin's temperary Master, cuz Obi-Wan wuz presumed dead at the hands of Ventress on that one swamp world.

He's the only Makashi master of his time, but that doesn't mean others doen't use it, just that those who use it havn't mastered it. In the ROTS novel it says that Shaak Ti uses Makashi and Cin Drallig presumably knows it at least well enough to teach it.

The only book I can think of is a cmoic book valled The Best Blades, but I don't remember this info from that book? Was it a cmoic book that said that or a novel?

Quinlan Vos was a practitioner of Makashi. I can imagine Mundi was only a Practitioner seeing as how he died so hard to the Troops.

It was the novel about the Battle of Jabiim, I dont recall the title tho. It took place a year after Geonosis.

Yo Sorgo, He failed to detect other things blah, blah, blah......well no shit, nobody's perfect. The reason the Clones killed him is cuz Makashi is designed for sword-on-sword, but despite that, he still had the skillz to drop like 4 of them. I'm 100% sure that if either Kenobi or Fisto were in his shoes at that moment, they both woulda survived. They were both masters of their styles which are very blaster-orientated.
