Escape velocity is the speed an object has to be travelling to escape gravity if it can't continually propel itself

Wonderman, for instance, can continually propel himself at 10mph and eventually he'll escape the earth's gravitational field

anyone who can propel themself for long enough has the velocity to escape gravity....... it doesn't actually mean they can all hit mach 30+
