Ok, so we have the Gravemind, who has absorbed numerous human, covenant, and forerunner casualties, and is able to use the entire mind(not just the 10% that normal people can) and we have Thrawn, the greatest battle strategist in the Starwars universe...

Ever played Halo, Halo 2, or read the books? The Gravemind is pretty much the leader of the flood... he is created from the corpses of thousands of people, and is able to tap into Halo installation 05's teleportation systems without an interface, denoting extreme intelligence...
