The Judgment of Celestial

Can we start?

(Yeah start. This is the RP thread)

Ranier's horse walked slowly through a dark forest. The loud clopping from his horse echoed off the gray stone path. It covered up the sound of a roadside bandit. He took Ranier by surprise as he jumped out of the bushes, and knocked him off his horse. The bandit sat on top of him, two magnums sticking into Ranier's chest.

Ranier kicked the bandit off of him, and jumped up quickly. He pulled out his machete, and ran for the bandit. The bandit recovered from the kick, and turned to Ranier holding one magnum out. Ranier quickly slashed his hand, causing the magnum to fall. The bandit reacted quickly, and shot a round into Ranier's stomach. Ranier sliced into the bandit's throat, and blood spouted out onto Ranier.

"Oh jeeze," Ranier held his stomach, the pain unbearable. Still, he was surprised to see his horse hand't ran off after the bandit had fired his magnum. He hopped onto his horse, and headed for the nearest village.

Location: Bulma Academy Gardens
Approximate Time: 9am

Well, what a delightfully... dull... morning. The date marked for field exams was drawing ever closer, which was normally a good thing, except there was really no way for Dimitri to know just what sort of work the exam would entail. As a result, he didn't particularly know just what he should focus on improving... diplomacy, or combat? Stealth, or battlefield strategy? Given the nature of the exams, and the inherent danger they offered, trying to guess just what he'd have to face was more or less like playing Russian Roulette. If he guessed wrong, odds were he wouldn't be able to stop and call a time-out, he'd likely just be shot and the whole thing would end right there on the spot.

Not surprisingly, these thoughts were making for quite a bit of stress, something he didn't particularly care for. Stress meant he couldn't think clearly, and if he couldn't think clearly, he'd never be able to outsmart an opponent.

...and then I will have fallen from a warrior, to a common brute...

At the moment, he was doing what he usually did to clear his mind; practicing his swordsmanship. The garden was his favorite location to do so, at least when there weren't many people around, as the natural beauty seemed to help. None of the instructors he'd met particularly minded his affinity for using the garden as a training grounds of sorts, though each sternly told him to be mindful of the plants therein and to avoid cutting someone's head off. Or shooting them, at which point he always pointed out he never kept his sword loaded unless he knew there might be trouble.

...well, that was more or less a lie, but at the moment, it was truth. Each of the chambers of the revolver built into his sabre were empty as a precaution; and because he was only practicing his form today. Each swing wasn't meant to be particularly swift or powerful, instead they were at half the speed they would have been otherwise as Dimitri attempted to keep each swing and block as balanced and graceful as possible. A weak wrist in battle meant a week in a hospital bed, after all...

((Eh. Too tired to write a physical description of Dimitri into the post... if you really need one, PM me and I can link a reference pic))

Jack sat silently in the garden reading a book. Birds chirped peacefully over him as he flipped through the pages gathering information. Jack was dressed in the Academy Student's Uniform; like all the other students wore during the weekdays. During the weekends though students could wear what they wanted. Jack had his mind focused on the Field Exams.

Jack kept a clear head and only focused on what needed to be focused. Jack thought of himself as a loner and kept mostly to himself. Not really caring about anyone else.

Sebastian was really tired by the fact that he has been Studying and Training (Forgive me if I did not have to do that.) all week for the exams at bulma academy that he has signed up for. He wondered what the exams would really be about? Will it be an exam with a twist? Or another one of those exams where the teacher manipulates the human brain? He was not going to let the exams get him nervous. He snaps his fingers and holds his forehead, remembering that he left the kitchen light on.

Sebastian: Damn! Who knows how long this exam will be.

Sebastian continued walking through his hometown of Terbium in the land of Maldarian with his book on his right hand, his sword held on his back, and a necklace kept under his shirt around his neck. Sooner or Later, he starts to spot other students on their way to the academy for the exam probably. He put his hand in his right pocket and looks for 5 dollars (Forgive me if dollars is not a type of currency in this RP). He went over a stall that sold these natural drinks. He buys a pure orange juice and got his change. He opens the drink and chugs it down. He forgot to eat or drink something before leaving.

Ranier returned to The Academy and headed for the medical center. His bullet wound had skimmed the right side of his chest. The wound would heal on its own with some medical wrap around his chest. Ranier had left his horse outside so no noise would be created. He had left The Academy without permission to pick up alchohol drinks, and he wasn't wearing the Academy Uniform.

(For the record; the currency here is called Siv [Silver basically])

The doctor of the academy; Michelle McGurr; watched Rainer walk in. She gave a sigh and said, "you again. I just can't seem to get rid of you Jungen. Well what did you do this time?"

An announcement came upon the intercom. It was the headmaster of the Bulma Academy; John Quiin. He spoke strongly and profoundly, "this is an announcement to all students wanting to partake in this year's Field Exams. Report directly to your classrooms to be briefed quickly on information needed. That is all."

(Eh, I'll just post what the teacher, Kain Fox, has to say. It just seems kind of pointless to have everyone just post: He entered the classroom.)

Kain Fox entered the room and looked at all his students. His class (which is everyone who is in this RPG) sat at their respective seats. He went over to the desk and said, "[i]Welcome class. As you know the Field Exams are less than a month away. I don't think anyone in here has taken the exams before so I'll explain everything to you.

First off; the Field Exams will send you into the wild of Bulma Island. There you will acquire missions that your respected Cielo Master will give you based on your team's past performances. These missions can range from a simple escort to slaying a dangerous beast. These exams will last for a month. You will NOT be permitted into the academy expect for the weekends.

Now then, a test will be given in two weeks; a written exam to determine which team you will go in. As you know you will all be placed into teams of three based on the sole results of this written exam. The test will go from military tactic questions, Celestial Energy questions, and history of Igros so I would suggest you listen up over the course of the next two weeks in class for those weeks are critical.

You are free to do as you please during the two weeks for other than class time there will be no other training required. Remember that one week from today is the Festival of the Moon which will be held in the garden. Those wishing to perform for the festival may sign up. That's all for class.[i]"

And with that class time is over...

(You see how much easier that is. Now all you can continue what you were doing)

Jack headed down the main hallway. He was without his bastard sword which was named Saigon. Jack was eager to try to get a band together to perform at the Festival of the Moon. Jack could play the piano, harmonica, and even the guitar a little bit. But Jack didn't want to let that get in his way in preparing for the Field Exams. Of course that didn't mean Jack wasn't going to try and impress a girl whom Jack grew fond of during the years.

Rainier had spaced in and out during class. He had been losing a lot of blood, so he headed back to Doctor Michelle.

"Hey Doc... I seem to have been shot," Ranier opened up his coat and shirt. It seemed to have already been infected.
"What do you recommend?" Ranier asked, propping himself up onto the medical chair.

Dr. McGurr have out another sigh. "To begin with..." she started and held her right hand in front of her torso, "stop being stupid."

Dr. McGurr started to gather Celestial Energy into her hand then touched the bullet wound. McGurr was a master at Light Aura and transferred some of her energy to Ranier to speed up the healing process as well as remove infection.

"And stop leaving the academy. You honestly believe that security here is that dimwitted?" McGurr asked. "Now run along. You need to get ready for the Field Exams."

Well, at least now he knew he not only needed to keep up on his swordsmanship, but his studies as well. Juuuust dandy... somehow, Dimitri doubted he'd be getting much sleep over the next couple weeks. With any luck, he wouldn't get paired up with any of the kids who'd been treating the entire year as one big joke...

As he left the classroom, he was somewhat relieved he wasn't the only one whose mind was otherwise occupied. Though, he was worrying about the upcoming exams, Dimitri really couldn't be certain what this other lad was thinking about. Only one real way to find out really; just speak to him, and see what slips out.

"I find myself wondering mate, just what it is that's got your mind wandering..." he said casually, though doing what he could to make sure he spoke loudly and clearly enough to snap his classmate out of whatever thoughts he was wrapped up in, "Just what it is that's got you thinking so hard. The upcoming exam, where you might well end up eaten by some beastie or killed by bandits; or if you're really just trying to figure out who you're going to try to take along to this festival as your date... or maybe, you're going to try and impress her with a performance of some sort?"

...alright, so small-talk wasn't his strong suit. But at least Dimitri got straight to the point...

[note: the person he's talking to would be Jack]

Brad was tired and glad that his day was almost over. Mr. Fox had just explained to the class that in a month there was going to be a field exam. Brad was anxious but a little hesitant considering the fact that he was just a healer. He always wanted to do something great to honor his mother and this sounded like the perfect thing.

He saw Dimitri and Jack talking and blatantly interrupted, as he always did. "So now that we know what's going to happen in the next few weeks, anyone willing to learn how to work with a healer?"

(Hope that's okay to just interrupt you guys.)

(To Seth)
"Kind of all of what you said Dimitri," Jack replied. "But from what I heard from my brother these exams will test all your abilities to see what your true limits are. I waited for this day to come."

Jack seemed to grow tense just speaking about the Field Exams eager to head out and see what he could do. Jack wanted to prove that he was just as good as Athos; and maybe even better. Jack hasn't heard from Athos since he came to the academy.

(To Ordained)
"Not today Brad," Jack replied. "I have some other things that I need to do."

((ok im gonna edit my weapon, since i didn't realize this was post modern..andrew uses a hammer that shoots energy blasts...if thats ok??))
andrew listened intently to fox as he described the layout of the exams..after class he spotted brad, jack and Dimitri walking together and joined them.."heya" he greeted, nodding his head at them.."looking forward to the trials??" andrew always defined exams as 'trials'..in his mind he saw everything as a challenge, and this was no different..

(I apologize for the late post)

Sebastian made it to Bulma's Academy. He looked around the atmosphere and how the place is filled with many students in the same uniform he is wearing obviously. He just walked through the crowds, very new to the place feeling the butterflies in his stomach, seeing new people. Sebastian didn't really have any friends and was not so sure of how social he was, but kept his head up always with out any shame.

Sebastian entered the classroom as all others were being seated. He sat on his seat in the front, trying not be somewhere else where the teacher won't see how good of work he does. He listened to the instructor and the information of the field exams. He was pretty amazed of how much it takes to go to Bulma's island. He was however planning to work as a team if he had to be work with two other students. As the class was over quickly, he hops over the desk and started walking his way out.

Sebastian: Yeah, two weeks! This will give me enough time to re-pass my work and training! This will be cake!

Sebastian said words that would encourage him to keep him from being more nervous than he is now. He kept walking through the halls, being stopped time after time by these healers and dark poweress about training with them. He refused, knowing there was always a twist within those lines of training with someone you have no idea of. He kept going until he finally sees the exit of the school. He sits on a bench to rest. However, he closed his eyes slowly and fell asleep.

Ranier left the medical center, and headed for his dorm to change into his uniform. As he walked down the hallway, he noticed Dimitri, Jack, and Brad conversing. Ranier walked up to them.
"Hey, when you guys gonna start training?" Ranier asked, buttoning up his shirt.

"Kind of all of what you said Dimitri. But from what I heard from my brother these exams will test all your abilities to see what your true limits are. I waited for this day to come."

...not exactly the answer he was looking forward to hearing, but at the very least, Dimitri didn't consider him a fool for it. Granted, allowing your thoughts to become cluttered was something he considered ill-advised, but at least Jack was worrying over the pending exams instead of exclusively about finding a date. So he couldn't be all that bad, just... poorly suited to determining what the proper priorities should be and adjusting accordingly.

"Ah. Well, if I were you, I'd worry less about finding a date and more about preparing for the field exams. Those could end up killing you, your date won't. Unless you've got some penchant for dating the pathologically homicidal type. In which case, don't bring them anywhere near me, I find myself possessing a rather strong inclination to remain amongst the living..."

"So now that we know what's going to happen in the next few weeks, anyone willing to learn how to work with a healer?"

"...I'll pass, thanks. I'm not all that keen on getting injured just so you can practice healing me. Besides, I should get started on preparing for the exams as soon as possible... wouldn't want to be caught unprepared after all, then I'd need to work with you," Dimitri answered, though felt he should probably clarify a bit, just so he didn't come off as rude.

"No offense, but healers are the sort of people you hope you never need to work with; it means you're in good health and adept at avoiding injury..."

Alright, two people nearby. He could deal with that, it was still a sort of small group. Unfortunately, there seemed to be no end to the number of other students joining them. The next one was another one of his classmates Dimitri barely knew, though if memory served his name was... Sebastian? Sure, that sounded right...

Yeah, two weeks! This will give me enough time to re-pass my work and training! This will be cake!

"Well, aren't you overflowing with confidence. Though at least I'm no longer the only one with the sense to train up for the exams, rather than chase after some woman for the festival..."

...alright...starting to be too many people around here...and of all the rotten luck, there's another...

The addition of Ranier to the group was enough; Dimitri was now considering it to be a bit too crowded. He couldn't say he really held anything against anyone present; he just couldn't stand being around too many people. Let alone four people he hardly knew.

"I've some things to take care of before I catch up on my studies, so if you gentlemen will excuse me..." he said politely, though it was hardly a request to leave, closer to an announcement of intent. Picking up the pace, he headed off down the hall toward the dormitories, where he could get a little solitude, at least for the next few hours...

((ECB, you going to make an OOC thread for this RP?))

"Well I'm trying to start as soon as possible but can't find anyone willing to work with a healer," Brad said to one of his good friends, Rainer. "Would you be willing to learn how to work with one?"

Eve was hiding in the garden again, she skipped going to class because she wanted to finish her drawing she started and also she couldnt concentrate on anything other then drawing lately. She smiled as she continued to draw the garden she was in but there were things added to the picture, she drew someone handing her a flower. She felt silly really, drawing someone whom she has never even talked to let alone give her a flower in such a nice way. She sighed as she realized her mind had yet drifted again and she had stopped drawing.

Eve stood up and decided to go wander around and find someone who might be able to tell her what she missed in class.

"Sure," Ranier replied to Brad."As long as you don't mind working with me... I have a tendency to.. uhh.. hurt people."
