It's not about physical strength. What makes Second Age Spawn so special is the fact that the rules of Heaven and Hell no longer affected him. Plus his ability was nearly unlimitted. There were very few things that he could not do.
The extant of him power being unlimitted was more suggested than shown.
1) He humiliated Mammon, the representative of Hell who claimed to be thousands of times more powerful than Malebolgia.
2) He decapitated Malebolgia, devil and ruler of the 8th plane of Hell
3) He defeated Urizen (with help from Angela and Greenworld)
4) He was seemingly immortal and invulnerable.
I am not so far convinced that he could have beaten Dark Pheonix, but i could be wrong......
The extant of Man of Miracles power is unknown so far, but he is definately many stations ABOVE Spawn in any age.
Urizen at his fullest potential is most likely on par with Dark Pheonix, if not above her. His descriptions already say so, as his defeats required complete intervention from Heaven, Hell, and Greenworld.
Just imagine for a second....Heaven, Hell, and Greenworld....3 forces who are at conflict with eachother, very powerful realms who are always at conflict with the other.....
Yet all 3 needed to get involved for Urizen's defeat !
That puts Urizen at THREAT LEVEL # 1

Man of Miracles is a little scheming bastard with an ACTUAL MIND...
Urizen has no patience for "planning" he is not the scheming type...he is all powerful, he has no need for any politcal/spiritual "intelligence".
Urizen is a total BEAST...he never even SPOKE.....he just carries on his lust of devouring souls, causing cities of people to commit suicide and murder, striking fear into Heaven, Hell, AND Greenworld...
Man of Miracles seems a lot more mature, smart, and to concerned with the well being of mankind to actually be Urizen....

I think Spawn is being re invented. He is now linked to the LEGION...not to mention that he still has his "Al Simmons" human body.
I think he is going to get a whole new set of powers, but will have to LEARN what they are, and how to use them.
This is what the Man of Miracles seems to be pushing him to do.
