well for C4Ds you put them on the sig and change the blending mode and erase them where you don't want it, change the opacity etc,
I have no idea how you would regularly use a fractal, but I usually use them to add weird effects to my sig 😂

I don't find it at all tedious. Though I don't make them to use as resources, I make them because they're art in their own right. And they're really cool, a lot of fun, and can be really amazingly beautiful.
Though I tend to use really random things as resources for my sigs. A lot of my photomanips end up being used as textures 😛

Fractals are pretty much amazing to look at, I agree. I tried making some, but the program to make it requires a lot of time and a lot of patience, something I don't have much of 😛

About the only thing I don't do, digital art-wise, is 3D.
Well, mostly. I've fiddled with some 3D.
But photomanips, drawings, paintings, fractals, etc...
