why does god test us...to the point of not believing anymore...

If God did have compassion on humans. We deserve hell, all of us, so God sent Christ to take our place. His death bridged the gap for those who believe in Him, there in no seperation, if we would only have faith and cross that gap, we are saved from eternity in hell and spend eternity in heaven with God.

If i cant be happy here on earth then i really dont want eternity. these tests that god has given me leave me weak and not wanting to believe...its so horrible...i dont think any righteounous (sp) will come from this...

God does not test us. God does not do, we do.

I agree with Shaky. Not everything is like a test of faith where you have to blindly believe in something even if it is extremely contradictory. If something does not make sense to you there is two possibilities, first ; you didn´t get something, or second ; that thing is not real. Instead of just discarding God try first to change your concept of it, maybe it is very different than what we thought... maybe it is very different of what every religion thought.

I think the problem is that many people try to reach God by just having faith in some determined dogma or religion, try to create your own concept of God by what your own experiences tell you.

Yes, don't think of it as testing to purify you or anything like that. I don't believe a god would do that at all. The church will lead to to believe that though and that it's for your own good. But in truth it wouldn't make since for testing to see if you pass the grade or not. Enjoy your life, live it, and yes trials do happen and you can learn from them, but it is nothing but life, not testing by god. 🙂

Dogma has trained many to believe in a God that's like an insurance policy against bad times, a guarantee against loss and suffering. This is metaphor out of control.

During bad times, we find out what kind of people we are. Are you a wuss? Are you a survivor? This is not something you learn by having fun.

"Being tested" is in the mind of the beholder, as is the meaning of the consequences.

its unbelievable how much potential people have of living, loving, fealing, expiriencing, n realizing. n its quite sad to see almost every one strategically destroy it by going with the flow of every around them and organised relegion has contributed and largely been the causative factor if this closely followed by prejudice, materialism and taboos. why dont people shoudnt even think about things like god, just try n live a happy n virtuous life.
