Why I've been gone
As some of you may have noticed, I haven't been on KMC for quite a while. In fact, when I went back on, I had to log back in because I'd been gone so long, my computer had forgotten my password and all that to automatically sign me in. Either that, or the cookie got deleted, one of the two.
Anyway, I'm back now, and since I told some people why I've been away, I'd imagine it spread to everyone else pretty quickly. However, there are various reasons, and one of the more serious ones can be found in the GDF. The other reasons can be taken a lot more light heartedly, and will be discussed here:
Firstly, I made the mistake of applying to University. Secondly, I made the mistake of applying to Cambridge. I mean, seriously, you have to hand-write the SAME DAMN INFORMATION to them about 4 times, ALL of which is freely available to them from the official board anyway. For example, if I told them I'd got 400/300 on my Further Extended BioNuclear Physics exams, they'd write back telling me I had provided false information - clearly they can check if you're lying, so why bother asking me for the info in the first place? Why bother asking me the same question for the third time??
After I'd got through several forests worth of form filling in, they finally got back to me: I'd be allocated to Girton College. Just like every other college I've been to or been allocated to, it used to be an all girl's college, turned mixed. I'm not sure what someone's trying to tell me, but I'm either gonna get laid, or have a gender change. Finger's crossed on the former.
I spent quite a bit of time away from KMC to get prepared for my interview. Despite one of the opening questions being "What is an isoquant?", I feel it went rather well. With a bit of trickery, I was able to do even better in the second interview.
Several weeks later, they got back to me, saying I was in.... so long as I got 3 A's at A Level.
Recently, I've been taking time away from these forums to catch up with my revision: some exams got completely owned to hell, but others were kinda hard. Thankfully, I only need 3 A's, so those exams know where they can go.
And now, I've finished my final exam! And I'm gonna be 18 soon! And I've not got any "proper" school - ever! It's just dossing about until Uni, while turning up for a few lessons because they won't enter me for my final exams if I don't.
I would also like to take this opportunity to thank the wonderful Liv & Trace for their support around and after my interview: If I had shared their optimism, I'm sure I'd have had a lot less sleepless nights. Thanks girls!
Oh, and to those of you who have sent me a PM asking me to merge a thread, close it, lift your ban or whatever - the answer is I can't, and chances are you've long forgotten about it anyway.
