"Ferrari have a habit of protesting about technical regulations when the Championship is not going their way. They've been so dominant of late that they haven't needed to adopt old habits, but in the late 90s they became serial protestors at McLaren's innovations.
They successfully complained to the FIA and got rid of McLaren's brake/steer device, their use of beryllium and a revolutionary new differential they were developing. All these things had previously been passed by the FIA Technical Delegate as complying to the rules and after Ferrari's protests, they didn't. "
