This is OT, but I disagree completely. The movie was not awful, it was fantastic. No star wars movie is perfect, but for all those reason I gave, it was incredible. Stinko-awful-bad movies are "Duece Bigalow" that latest jessica simpson flick, and "Doom." Those are not in the league of TPM.

Add to that, TPM had the best progression of the PT--not too fast/not too slow. AOTC was painfully slow with Obiwan's detective work, and ROTS flew by real fast----one minute Anakin was carrying Obiwan and the next he was cutting off Mace's arm.
TPM is by far the official underrated SW in the saga, yes I know Jar Jar is a pain in the ass. But dispact him I find it to be a really entertaining and interesting journey. Of all the prequels it capture the magic of the OT wich ATOC and ROTS simply couldn't, and feels much more similar in pace and atmosphere to the OT aswell. Qui Gon Jinn is one of the most interesting and noble characters of the whole saga helped indefinately by his portrayal by Liam Neeson whom makes an exellent Jedi. I enjoyed the classic story aswell, two Jedi are trying to protect a Queen while struggling to survive from the massive Trade Federation eventually they step foot on a planet where they meets a boy who later on seems to be the so-called Chosen one. For me The Phantom Menace was an incredible experience, especialy for the first time seeing a SW film in cinema.

Yeah, my deal with the PT is that they are good movies, they just aren't the epic films that the OT were. Comparing them is the only thing that might make them seem bad, but I liked them, and I both would and will watch them again.
i would watch any of the films any day exept ep. vi, i find the jabba bit boring, and endor i only like the last bit on the death star.
