I don’t understand why some people think that a simple design is always “easier” to do then having a flashy background and all. The last duel that I had with the girl in the water was a “simple” design but took longer then any other duel that I had because of all the extra subtle things I did. Extra highlights, lighting effects and the sphere look forever to get right, the ambient lighting and refraction was a pain to get and not loose to much of the image quality.

They say in art you have to do whats popular for 20 years to make a name for yourself, then you can do what you want 😂

I know what you mean, I’m a graphic artist/web designer and I have to do stuff that the client wants that I know will look like crap. The want all the wiz bang stuff but their cliental is not into that kind of thing.

Any suggestions on this

Other than it's too C4Dish

I've never gotten a good answer, what is C4D? All I know is that is a CAD program.

A C4D - A shape, that is usable in sigs. Made in Cinema 4D program. I don't have much either.

Thanks for the info, I'll have to check it out.

Speaking of C4Ds, I have literally TONS of various C4D files that I've collected.

Try and blend the C4Ds together a bit better -- change opacities, erase parts, etc.

i have seen sigs that have like people sitting outside of the box and no background behind them! how do i do that?

They are called transparent GIF’s. A GIF is a type of file format that can handle animations and transparency for the web. Most high end programs such as Photoshop and Painter and some other programs can create them.

C4D can add nice effects, but you usually can tell right away if you've used them. I have a limited arsenal of techniques myself, but I prefer NOT to use C4Ds. Many of the render sites listed in Lana's resources have C4D or Abstract Render categories.

I've actually found several ways to get the same sort of effects with them, without actually using them 😂

They can make nice effects indeed, but always look best when they're not the main focus but rather to simply add an effect or depth.

I find that depth is often my greatest key to a good sig. Then layout followed closely by light and color.

I need to learn some new techniques myself. I need to start playing around again.

Normally I make all my own effects, I like the greater control over the outcome but I do use them occasionally. Most 3D effects that I need I create myself as well since I have 3D max and all.

Ok, I'm kinda happy with this one. Tried a smudging technique and I don't think it turned out that bad.
