Hmm, I'm pretty sure I have a pretty nice understanding of the word in question and although it is primarily used in fencing, does not mean I can't use it in a real conversation, so me being sad is merely your opinion which I will not take into consideration over this matter.

Hardly patting myself on the shoulder.... I just didn't want to turn a little friendly banter into anything more... and I felt that if I'd continued the way it was progressing it might have, so ended the whole clothing 'debate' by letting her win as it were. That's not saying she could not have won of her own accord.
