Yep, it's compression that kills quality. If you try and make it the tiniest file you can, it'll sound crappy.

Nope... unless the warranty was three years. 😬 He paid $15-20 I think, but it wasn't anything substantial. Plus he tripled his storage space, got a color screen from black and white, and can play video, plus much better battery life.
