WRONG.
It has been proven,a nd is well proved with various other planets, That if a body is close enough to a significant larger other body, the gravity created will keep the smaller orbiting body always pointing the same side.
If earth was close enough to the sun, 'Equador' Would always be pointing the sound as the earth orbits it, Enough gravity stops All Revolution.
Don't anybody Come and tell me "The moon IS revolving on its own axis, just at the exact same time as the earth"
Try this for yourself, Hang a ball from a piece of rope, hang it over and apple, and have it "orbit" around the apple, you can EVERY EASILY make it so one side contently points towards the apple.

Orbit is just A continuous fall, just you are going so fast parallel to the surface that you just keep on missing earth "Falling over the edge"
try and picture this, you are falling belly first towards the earth, but you are moving so fast forward that you keep on missing the ground / falling"over the edge" of earth, Because of the gravity, your belly will always point The ground.

This requires propulsion systems, sophisticated computers and software.

It could have easily be knocked off the Surface of Mars by an Asteroid form the Mars - Jupiter Belt, Hang around in orbit between mars and Earth, and slowly over millions of years crash down to earth.

WHAT DOES THE MOON REALLY DO ? Based on the earth's mass and wobble, science has shown from computer simulations of the earth that the moon is a stabilizer for earth's rotation, and is essential for tides. It functions something like a flywheel, smoothing out the earth's rotation. Without tides from the moon's orbit our oceans would become like stagnant water. And at the very least, the oceans would not have the variety of life they have. Think about how may creatures come and go from the beach, just based on tides. Even sea turtles go by the tide when they lay their eggs on shore.
The moon has been there before the first life forms, therefore the tides have been there before the first bacteria, therefore, The tides have not been created for reasonably new species of earth (in the grand scale of things) But they have adapted to the conditions.
Biology 501. Thats From Darwin and his trip to the Galapagos, (off the coast of Quebec none the less 😛) Which is a perfect example for that system.
