well, guess that about wraps it up. KD, i think its time to request that the mods lock this thread. case closed

Wait... Give it a week... The thumper still hungers..

Finally I have a chance to respond to this ridiculous thread..and let me say that everyone who posted on here attempting to equate human life to that of a dolphin, rat, cockroach, monkey, ...etc..has got to be one of the biggest twats ever to walk the face of the earth.

During the course of this debate..you all have actually managed to accomplish the following:

A. Demonstrated that not everyone who has an opinion should share it with the masses.

B. Made PETA look like a rational organization.

C. Proven that the terms prideful and foolishness should be used simultaneously when describing ridiculous opinions.

With that being stated let's look at the definition of what you all believe categorizes one as being an animal..

A multicellular organism of the kingdom Animalia, differing from plants in certain typical characteristics such as capacity for locomotion, nonphotosynthetic metabolism, pronounced response to stimuli, restricted growth, and fixed bodily structure.

How many multicellular organisms of the wild do you know that have the ability to show compassion or to show mercy?

How many multicellular organisms do you know of the cook their food to rid it of impurities...or clothe themselves to cover their nakedness?

For those of you who don't believe that your life has any significance over that of a cockroach..I've included several links below...

http://www.ruiacollege.edu/animal.htm

http://www.nc3rs.org.uk/

Please do all of us who believe ourselves to be distinctly "human" a favor..submit yourself as a test subject in the place of the lab rats and animals currently used for scientific studies.

For those of you who do not choose to submit to such testing, and prefer to live like an animal in your day to day life, I suggest you save us "humans" the trouble of having to dispatch of you like we do of all the beasts...just a suggestion..interpret it as you will..

Regards,

who be da MAN..

Your last 2 paragraphs really back up your whole argument too. I though you said humans are capable of compassion? On the contrary, you seem very keen to violent behavior.

Also, elephants, dogs, whales, and dolphins to name a few are capable of happiness, loneliness, excitment, frustration, and varying degrees of compassion. It's been proven. Not all animals are capable of these emtions, but there are quite a few.

Finally you have a chance to respond? You've beem on KMC for days since this thread started.

And that's all you write? I was expecting something with some grit, some teeth, maybe even a point.

sounds more like someone is attempting to take the animal part out and trade it in for "humanity."

Well, we certainly are not plants!
We have to eat, drink and breath to survive.(And by the way, some people do eat eachother, canabalism exist in parts of the world.)
People kill eachother too in all parts of the world.
We poop and pee.
We are not the only animals that have sex for pleasure, so do dolphins and some of the other primates.(we are primates too)
Look in the eyes of a baby gorilla and tell me you dont see a distance relative.
We have to survive the same way as the rest of the animals do. Sure we are (supposedly) so very much smarter than the rest of the anamals.... means nothing. Look how much smarter a chimp is than a frog.
We are simply the most intellectually advanced animal in the world.
So as you read this I have one more thing to say to you.....
YOU ANIMAL!!!

You are officially my friend. I especially liked how yo pointed out that we poop and pee. It's true!

You mentioned how we can see a resemblance of ourselves in primates and I think that is very true. There is a poster of a baby chimp or bonobo at the zoo in the city where I stay and every time I see it it reminds me of my cousin Ray. Everytime.

No, we're plants.

You right dolphins are smart..

flipper was a damn smart..I'd gladly sacrafice my life and the life of ten human to save one life of a dolphin as smart as flipper...

Monkeys are damn smart to..we are the same as them you know..we swing on trees like the moncheechees..and pick lice off of each others bodies and eat it...

We also build nuclear reactors..monkeys do that too..we are the same as all animals in the animal kingdom...

Finally you all are starting to make some sense...🙄

your only means of putting humans above animals is "der we build nukular rectors!!!111"

yeah that makes sense. because lord knows a dolphin or monkey could use a nuclear reactor. and lord also knows that you know how to build one.

the only reason we have such 'accomplishments' is because of our own wants/needs. its all self serving. so because animals have no need and are not dependant on man made bullshit, they are inferior? your logic astounds me.

animals have a place in nature, in the food chain, and nature is dependant on them. they have a purpose, without having to convince (fool) themselves of it. humans are worthless self serving hairless apes who's minds have evolved to the point of both genius and allout insane delusions of grandeur, which we see here.
