Oh man, it took a loooot of complaining for my mom to finally give in. My dad was alright with it, but it was my mom that actually took me. It looked great, and when my dad saw me, he told me he didn't even recognize me.

Your story reminds me of something similar that happened to me though! All of my life up until 17 1/2 years old I had long hair. The long hair wasn't by choice at all, my parents would NOT let me cut it and I finally just stopped asking altogether but my cousin went to beutician(sp?) school to be a cosmetologist and she finally convinced them and so we dyed it #3 (#1 is black) so it was almost black but not quite and cut it all off up to my shoulders and all my life it had been growing except for getting the dead ends trimmed off. It was down past my elbows at the very latest point before it got cut and then once she cut it off I saw a humongous pile of hair on the floor. Instant pounds shed, LOL!

Oh my gosh, don't you love that?! My hair is sooooo thick, and when I get it thinned out/trimmed, it feels great to lose like, 2 pounds on your head, hahaha!
All my life I've wanted long hair, but never had it. Longest it's ever been was a little past my shoulders 😬 But now I'm trying to grow it out 😱
