False. Some drugs really are bad.
Of course some are. Though these bad drugs aren't always bad for everyone, in fact they never are - not all people have the same addictive tendencies for the same drugs.
Then there's of course the physical detriment we're led to believe (aside from the addiction). Heroin for example, is not actually as physically detrimental as cannabis is. Of course there is the physical addiction which can develop and cause withdrawal symptoms; however, the only drug in which the withdrawal symptoms alone can kill you is alcohol.
Obviously I'd never advise anyone to do hard drugs, but I feel that a lot of the experimentation with harder drugs stems from the feelings of alienation, from a generation that know they are being mislead about the effects etc. of illegal substances.
