My parents were like that at first. Until I hit about 13ish

I started taking a liking to sketching and painting. So they allowed me to paint on my walls.

just remember the rule

Dark colors make a room look smaller

and Dark red can look like a murder scene if the paint isn't applied smoothly and evenly
