It's very rare for poor people in the US to give up their jobs when they have a child because there are bills to pay. If we were wealthy, maybe she would. Also, nanny's are expensive.

She's 27. She just got out of school. Her salary is a lot lower than those who have been working 10 to 15 years longer. Plus, I live in Mississippi, the poorest state in the union. Salaries are considerably lower here. It sucks. That's why I'm moving.
Edit: Oh and on top of that she has over $30k+ in loans to pay back for her education. Tuition is such a ripoff here unless you have scholarships.

Though more seriously, I have no idea, if you are still in the "I don't know what to do with my life" thing, it is hard to give suggestions. If you are set on the US though, I do have first hand experience living in Maine, which I enjoyed, and I do like the weather (except for the evil stuff) in places like Florida and California. Personally I'd either go to New York...cause it's New York, I mean, come on, or California (San Francisco Bay Area) cause everything cool in the world is happening there at the moment, right now!
