I was glad to see italy won the cup, they're a team i'm quite fond of, and if any player deserved to lift the cup it was cannavaro (sp?) imo...

Zidane overreacted, simple as that, you just cant do that and expect not to be punished...

Now... as a man utd fan (and a football fan), i'm sickened by the reaction c. ronaldo has been getting since the england match. Whether gary lineker likes it or not, Rooney got rooney sent off, nobody else. You don't stamp on a player, period. Replays have shown over and over that rooney stamped on carvalho's crotch, so its time for people to just take responsibility and stop blaming someone else. England went out because of sven and beckham imo, sven because he picked the wrong team, and the wrong system, and was so surprised when rooney lost it and got sent off (try playing a player like rooney as a lone target man and see how long it takes him to lose it). Beckham because he's simply not a captain, and he's barely a footballer as it is... People talk about his crossing ability, and thats all and good. So say he crosses the ball and crouch scores, but his lack of tracking back leaves gary neville exposed and england concede and concede and concede. He only gave up his captaincy cos i'll bet he was damn sure it was gonna be taken from him soon enough. Ronaldo didnt grab rooneys foot and force it against carvalho's crotch, rooney stamped on him...

if i was alex ferguson i'd welcome ronaldo back with open arms (but try to discourage the diving, seriously, its getting out of hand).

exactly i totally agree with you there Ronaldo didnt do nefn.. obv he wud stick up for him team mate.. he wernt playin for utd then he playin for potugal so y wud he stick up for Rooney jus coz they play in the same team over here.. and i think Fergie would keep him neway.. lol after all he's not English he's Scottish hehehe 😄

Why would you say that? Im pretty sure after playing more than 20yrs he well knows that if you deliberately hit another player and the ref sees it you will be tossed.

But the ref didnt see it and the linesmans didnt either and neither did the 4th official until he looked at the big screen which means the red card may have been a mistake. FIFA will let us know what happened on July 27.
