comparing Carrick to Crouch is like comparing Pantera to Bullet for my Valentine.

sure Carrick isnt as complete a player as Gerrard or Lampard, but as we've seen alot of times before, Gerrard and Lampard cant (or Sven can't make them) play together as effectively as their quality suggests... so Carrick is perfect for the England midfield.

i wouldnt say he's a star player, doesnt do anything fantastic... but is just a lynch-pin for any midfield he's in, allows more creative freedom to the rest.

So, you've got Carrick who has played really well all year for a top 5 club in the holding midfield position, and then you've got a really good centre-back...who do you play as the holding midfielder for England? The centre-back, of course! Good ol' Sven, always has a suprise up his sleeve...

Heres a good question... If Rooney cant play in the World Cup then who should replace him? I keep reading that if the scan shows he isnt fit to play then Sven will find another striker.

That raises another great Svenish decision:

england will qualify without rooney, its the later stages we will need him, and he should be back for then. its just a question as to whether or not he will be fit.

I honestly don't believe England need Beckham anymore.

I truly believe I agree with you 100%..

What the hell is all the 'he is undroppable!' about.. Lennon influence's the game much more than him.. get him out of the team.. get Lennon in and give Gerrard the captain's arm band.

Terry should have captaincy imo... but yea, Beckham isnt needed at all.

That's why England won't win the World Cup in my opinion, and if they win it WITH Beckham, he'll NEVER get dropped.

Rather than win it with a good team, they want to win it with a known one.

I predict 2-1 England.

I actually can't see Brazil not winning the world cup now. I mea watching them play, they have so much talent on their team. And I don't think that England have a chance in hell without Rooney.

i disagree. beckham proved tonight why he is so important. his passing is incredible. he could change a game in an instant. he would definetly play in my team.

So he plays a good game tonight, against HUNGARY, and is now all of a sudden off the hook? This is exactly why players such as Lennon won't ever get in the team.

He hasn't silenced me, I think he's shit. Always have, always will. Why he's in the first team and Darren Bent isn't still leaves me confused.

Someone said on the post-match commentary that Hargreaves isn't good, Lineker said: "But Sven likes Hargreaves." Exactly. As long a Sven is buried in certain players, they'll stay in the team.

darren bent isnt the type of player england need. we have owen. if you think darren bentshould be in the side,then it has to be for walcott.

crouch brings other players in brilliantly, he is good in the air and has the ability to score goals. he will be very useful for england. he will have a good tournament. i havent saw him put a foot wrong.

beckham needs to be playing, he still has the quality. lennon will get his chance and will be a regular soon enough. im more worried about lampard putting in a great performane rather than beckham
