Batman 1989 MADE JLU.

ITs true guys, With out Batman 1989, There would be no JLU TV show, or at least in that serious style and all.
Think of it this way.

Batman 89 was a BIG hit, and WB gave the go ahead for BTAS. BTAS does great, when it goes side by side with the awsome Batman Returns. (Even Penguin and Catwoman look like there movie counter parts lol)

Well After the greatness of this cartoon, came STAS, Superman, first time he got a Serious cartoon since, well since the 1930's with Max's Superman lol. Ever since, he was a goofy hero in the Superfreinds. But here Superman was cool, and the TV show was a hit.

Than of couse they did Batman Beyond, which had mix results, but it grow on people. I think Return of the Joker was great.

Than Justice League came. Were Bats, Supes and others, and yes even BTAS Joker return lol.

They JLU.
It seems JLU will get the axe soon. And wont be renew for other season.

But 14 years about. And it all started because of Batman 1989.

And that's just another reason why it was so great how they ended the JLU's last episode. You'll see what I mean. I forget how to do the spoiler tags, so...lol......

Ok, so what I meant, if you want to know, is that it ends with all the heroes running towards the screen, and the last one is Batman. From his chest logo, it goes to black. You can tell that they play favorites with Bruce in the series, but rightfully so. He's Batman, he's the man, and he's THE guy on the Justice League. He deserves it, and I'm so glad that they gave him the reputation that he rightfully was to be given.

------------SPOILERS ABOVE - SPOILERS ABOVE - SPOILERS ABOVE------------

He is the man in the show.

No matter how hard Superman trys, When he stands near Batman, Superman just looks like a Mere Mortal.

hey NoFate, i noticed that too on the last ep....😎

SPOILER

it's almost as if they were reminding us WHO made this long run of animated DC characters possible....BATMAN. It was a touching way of showing respect. I'd thought they would end it with Superman flying towards the middle (since he's DC's icon and all), but it was really the Batman animated series that got the whole thing kicking.

As for Batman 1989 making JLU, I think Batman Returns had more of a direct effect on the animated series. The cartoon went on right after Batman Returns came out. Notice the way Penguin was drawn..as well as Catwoman. The theme song, car, etc came from a combination of both Burton's movies.

AWWW! Why are they ending JLU?? Over here in the UK we only get it in bits and pieces and right now we are only at the stage where Grod has organised his evil secret society, is there another series after this one or is this the last one? Back to the topic in question I totally agree, Bats 89 started all the comic movies/cartoons we have now and we are eternally grateful! 😉

I belive this is the last one, there could be other, But when JLU gets cancle, the "Burton" era will come to a end.

i totally agree. without burtons great, sometimes darkly artistic movies, we wouldnt have the great cartoon shows that we have all come to love and cherish just like the movies themselves. burtons movies kick ass, batman was so BADASS in them!

How can you deny the bad ass-ness of Christian Bale when michael kjeaton was a fat guy with a bald patch and all he did to b\ad guys was
a) Cowardlyly blow them up
b) Walk at them with his cape out

Give KEaton his dues, He was not fat. Nor bald. He was better than Bale imo.

He did not cowardly blow up the bad guys. It was mostly base on the Dark Night returns, and THAT Batman killed.

Finally somebody else that agrees it's not a bad thing that Batman kills! He should kill especially in movie...and I find it hypcrit that they call the one of Batman Begins not a killer...

Ahhh!

I don't want to get into this Batman killing arguement again!

No...denying is...

I don't deny. I accept that the Burton films might ven have been good if separated from the tough burden of the batman freanchise. I don't give a f**k if he makes a weirrd film and calls it Dick man but its batman and thats not batman

Do people even read The Dark Knight Returns? Because in that comic book, a point is made of showing Batman refusing to kill people SPOILERS:
We're tricked into thinking that he means to kill Two-Face, only to reveal that the "rifle" only fired a grappling-hook. Batman debates killing the mutant leader and refuses to because it would mean breaking a promise. Or maybe you missed the part where Lana says clearly that "BATMAN HASN'T KILLED ANYONE!" when he's being faced with the troubling decision of whether or not to end the Joker's life. He refuses to kill the Joker as well.... It's one of the climactic events in the comic book, so I need to seriously ask you if you've ever read the story if you're making this statement. While it is true that Batman fires a rifle at a member of the mutant gang at one point in the story, if that individual was actually meant to be killed and not merely wounded the drama surrounding him and the Joker wouldn't make any sense, so any attentive reader should be able to connect the dots.
Perhaps you're referring to The Dark Knight Strikes Again, where Batman does actually take a life at the end as a last resort.

This having all been said, there's no problem with having Batman kill. He's been recreated more times than just about any other character you can name, and at the earliest points in his development he did kill from time to time... he just didn't in The Dark Knight Returns. There are plenty of other problems the films Keaton starred in, there's no reason to obsess over the fact that he murders some of the bad guys.

The present day, post Crisis Batman NEVER kills, OK?
