The Crossroads of Choice

Something I came up with last night off the top of my head...

The Crossroads of Choice

What now lies upon this path?
As silence lifts the world around?
Strewn amidst the toil and sorrow,
I watch in desperation,
For a single sign, a final call,
As life around me flails about,
Shouting out its helpless cry.

But though I know what lies ahead,
I turn to face another,
And strive to turn upon that course,
A road that be so simple,
And here it is not yet so far,
To what I see beyond.
But something deep inside me,
Stops my feet henceforth.
For though this is the path I wish,
I know I must be wrong.

And here I stand,
Upon these stones,
These stepping stones of life.
And here upon the crossroads,
I wait for that one time,
When within the battle,
Of my mind be then set right.

ooo that's pretty good 😊

🙂 Thanks. I just wish I had more time on my hands. I could probably come up with a lot more.

Oh I don't doubt that at all 😊 I know what you mean though; never seems to be enough time to do everything anymore

nice... nice!

not bad

And here is another one I made recently. The first one might be better Im not sure.

Forgotten Earth

Sea and water, rock and stone,
These treasures of earth, we feel upon our skin,
Tree and bark, grass and heat,
Gifts of this nature, long hath tread beneath our feet.
Air and breeze, sun and light,
We feel them everyday yet they arenst within our sight.
And look then to the green hills,
And rivers roaring cry,
They exist within our view, yet we shall never turn an eye.
Within our endless world,
Within most every life,
We live through all these things,
And yet we always pass them by.

So true 🙂

Finally got a few more Ill post them one at a time.

Together Stand

Once our lives were torn,
Once abandoned in neglect.
In that world past lived,
Sorrow, hatred; anger, death…

Faithful ones have fought,
For that which should have been,
Others would not stand,
Despite all clearly seen.

Loss of hope from failing faith,
Crossed our dreams in vain;
The struggle hence between us be,
A struggle not foreseen.

True light did at last succeed,
A final trust restored;
Together stand; together free,
For our new world and harmony.

Lost in a Sea of Deception

One way, one path, no end in sight.
Astray and wandering without guidance,
Towards a means of existence hidden from view.
My journey takes me to some place,
Ahead of me yet still beyond grasp.

I'm adrift in the waves of destruction,
Forever detached from the world…

A journey, a choice, no way to know.
Somewhere before me lays that answer,
To tell me on which road to go.
But still I misstep from my goal,
Taken and thrown against the ground.

I am gone in a cloud of confusion,
Forever apart from the world…

A voice, a tone, and yet no real words.
When you learn that all told to you is lie,
A twisted tongue spoke without truth.
And when finally reached is my goal at hand,
Now I wish I had never come.

I am lost in a sea of deception,
Forever hidden from this world.

My Heart for Yours

Golden sundrops?
Blossomed flower?
Shining silver, without flaw?
To what name would I call one as beautiful as you?
What name to stand for something so incomparable?
You are my fire, you are my life;
You are the only one I love.

I remember still,
That very first day,
When I met thee, upon my way.
A day in my mind that shall never lose thought.
When I first saw you, such a wonderful girl.
When we talked, I knew at once;
You would be the one I love.

Another time,
I still see clear,
That warm summer day, you lay with me,
Upon green grass, far from world around,
When I had traded my heart for yours.
That day when I said the words,
You are the only one I love.

Long months,
Long years,
I've lived with you,
Not one remembrance of bad times past then,
For when you are with me no thing can be sad,
And your words echo my mind when you say,
You are the only one I love.

Now I look back,
And remember your laughter,
As I sit alone, wishing I knew,
The reason that you left this place, leaving me,
But I look back and see all the joy that you brought me.
And I keep my vow, that I swore never break:

Still you are the only one I love.

My newest one:

Skies of Darkness

Withheld from my senses, I see no clear sky,
Blue atmosphere, now turned black with cries.
No sunlight remains, to brighten our Earth,
Daylight shining darkness, no more daily rebirth.
White clouds long gone, since drifted away,
Replaced by black shadow, an essence of gray.
What terror to have brought this about?
Perhaps only ourselves, and our own deadly ways.

A phantom is spreading across our world,
A storm of hatred, unleashed with fury.
The mourning for the fallen, surpassed by great sorrow,
Is covered up by the dead of tomorrow.
War and anger rage on, ceaseless to end,
Morality lost, in death throes of sin.
A new world is coming, one stained deep with blood,
The age of enlightenment, now sunk deep in mud.

Days grow under a lengthening shadow,
A silent wraith, an enemy from below.
An evil has spread, in our hearts and our minds,
And I fear that within me, its madness make me blind.
Can we ever be rid of this demon within us, this taint of despair?
Elusive as our arrogance and the deafness we hear?
As I look to the horizon, I think one last prayer:
That there still be some hope for the future ones here.
