Its certainly a good time to be a comic book fan, due to, like you said, films like Sin City, Batman Begins and such. I've loved a lot of the films that have been released so far, having not seen Catwoman or Elektra. Daredevil I thought was the best it could've been, Hulk could've been better, X1 too, but X2, SM1, SM2, Batman Begins, Sin City, all great films.
The weird thing though is that every "series film" that is coming out recently has been either heavily attacked by the fans for no reason, or for every right reason. Spider-Man, the "holy grail of modern superhero films" is even being attacked left and right. People are worried about Topher Grace, not many people like Sandman because he's boring, pretty much everyone I think would agree with me that adding in "more Peter and MJ time" as well as the Stacys is ridiculous, etc.....X-Men you've got people dissatisfied with some casting (though I personally love it all, save for Kitty) and people worried about the possible deaths and for cramming too much in such a little space. The new Bond film, Casino Royale, has had nearly every fan in an uproar with every new piece of news they find out (to recap: Sony has decided to cast an ugly blonde to play Bond, who has so far had teeth knocked out, can't drive a stick shift, is afraid of the water, had heat problems, and made a terrible performance at his announcement, in a film that will be an origin film despite how the female M is there, confusing the artificial timeline up, spending virtually no time on any gadgets and instead promoting a grittier Bond that will in fact be less gritty seeing as how he won't even be allowed to smoke in this film".
Everything that has become a series seems to be under nukes lately, and I don't really blame the fans too much. Some things are ridiculous, like how people are getting upset with Topher playing Venom when it hasn't even been officially announced yet - however, for the most part, I think fans should be worried about a lot of these things we're complaining about. After all, doesn't that just show that we liked the previous ones that much to care about a giant drop in production like this?
