Volume = 877,952,000cm3

Density = 2g/cm3 [A hard building-like substance, brick has the same density]

Weight = 1,755,904,000 g = 1935.55284 tons

From the size of the shield and the same trig used in the pillars distance, the distance is roughly 300m in 3 secs.

Velocity: 100m/s

= 1,755,904*100^2 = 8,779,520,000J = 8GJ......lol

@Scream: 183cm = 6ft, we've always been using that. Granite; ''he average density of granite is between 2.65 and 2.75'' guess i was 0.1 off ;p. My distance is with 3 methods while yours is guess work... yeah. And that mark is dead on. Go get an online calc for the hex if ya want, youll get the same number.

Anything else?

What are you mathing now?

And no, Kenpachi cut a building in half from range. Though keep in mind that cutting with the blade is still much more effective, in Bleach at least.

Negative, your method, trig, ignores the skewed perspective in N64 games and yields different answers depending on the way you do the math from the same screenshot.

A combination of measuring Link's steps, [b]educated guess work and rewatching the cutscene a hundred thousand times are my method. I've actually done frame by frame analysis of Link's stride, dude. The measurement you're using is impossible.

You're also continueing to ignore the arc of the toss.

Show me your work. there are differently shaped hexagons and shit. 😬 Let's see the work you've done, I've personally calculated the base of the damn thing a million times with associated diagrams and shit explaining which side is what length and what that means.

mmm I'm beginning to become angry. BYE FOR NOW. [/B]

Yeah and both ways got either 30 or 40m. Thats it, measuring the steps was the 3rd method -w- These are some quick tests [I'm around Links height] By copying Link's jog my stride is 90cm, takes just over 3 seconds to travel 10 which is 9-10steps.. thats 3m/s. A quick search yields to an average jog speed of 2.5m/s.
It takes Link 7 seconds to travel the distance with his jog. Using my interpretation speed [3m/s] he's traveling 21m, 17.5m with the average [2.5m/s] speed.
He also takes around 30 steps to get there. Going by my stride [30steps*90cm] thats 27m, with the number of steps [where 9-10steps=10m] its 27-30m.
17.5m, 21m, 27m, 27m, 30m. This third method gives an average of 25m, and you say you got 200m? Why don't you show how you got this, I never did see your figures for this.

I didnt ignore the arc, was just lacking the correct data to waste my time finding the right formula. But as you can see;
''Velocity: 30m/s... or 50m/s if using a 100m length to be fair in case of mistakes.''
😕 already covered this by putting it up to 60m then again further to 100m. But looking at the angle of the arc over 30m it would give a number only around 40m.

Oh and the reason my trig was off the last time was due to forgetting that almost half of the pillar was buried underground, hence the distance almost being double the first trig. Checking them both again both give a distance of 30m~
So thats trig, visuals and steps all coming up with the same numbers. 😐 Thats some great consistency.

(3√3/2)244^2
2.5980762113*244^2 } are all the area of a hexagon when given one side.
Type in 244.

183cm = 6f = Link's height.
Pic1; 183cm = 198pix
264pix/198pix = 1.333
183cm*1.333 = 243.939cm ~ 244cm = One side of the hexagon base.

Pic2; 183cm = 92pix
218pix/92pix = 2.369
183cm*2.369 = 433.527cm ~ 434cm [The typo in the pic fooled meh D:] = Half the height of the pillar

Height: 868cm again upped to 900cm for the points.

Base: (3√3/2)244^2 = 2.5980762113*59,536 = 154,679.065cm2

Volume: 154,679.065cm2*900cm = 139,211,158cm3

Density: 2.75g/cm3 [Granite is between 2.65 and 2.75, I'm using the heaviest for Link's sake.] [Note for non-metric users: 2.6g/cm3 = 162.24lb/ft3. 2.75 = 171.6lb/ft3.]

Weight: 139,211,158cm3*2.75 = 382,830,684 grams

= 421.998 tons ~ 422 tons.

Velocity: 2 seconds. Distance is either 25-30m with the method of sight, trig and steps <= 33-40m~ arc. 50m was to be nice.(66m~arc) And I used 100m for the whole distance, arc included, just as a halfway point between our numbers .____. lol being too kind here, thats 50m/s for extreme fairness.

~Another mistake; I used the weight before density in the joules calc the last time.~

(382,820kg*50m/s^2)/2 = 478,525,000 joules = 478 megajoules ~ 500MJ

Problems with your work;
1. You somehow got double the height, needs explaining.
2. Got a distance of 200m without ever showing your numbers for it.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

@NemeBro: MadMel wanted to know what the weight of the block is and how fast it was moving, so I found some numbers. Though that 300m seems off...

grr... why did I have to miss out on this? I'll leave the lightning alone because I don't want Scream raging again. As for the loin cub thing, the transformation didn't magically make Sora younger, or stronger. It just morphed him into a loin cub. Personally, I think Reg Sora is better than cub Sora because he has better reach with his arms than he would using his mouth. He can put more force behind his swings. As for the experience thing, Link didn't even get a sword and start paracticing with it until he went to see the deku tree. I'm not really sure how long his time with it lasted, but after he pulled out the sword he slept for 7 years, w/o any paractice, and just started using the master sword. He is pretty adept at using new equipment though, it takes very little time for him to get good with them. However Sora grew up on an island fighting with ppl, and a wooden sword his whole life until he got the keyblade, and then his skill skyrocketed once he mastered it's power.... which leads me to another good point, Sora isn't phisically strong at all, his power is derived from his keyblade. For example, Sora had enough practice with it towards the end of KH1 to become a badass, but after Riku took it from him, he turned into a *****. So since Sora and cub Sora have it, I'm led to believe they're both pretty much equal in terms of strength. As for Scream's question with the Gannondorf/Gannon transformation, I've actually thought about this before he wanted our opinion, I'm a nerd like that. IMO you have to start with when he first got the ToP. Within 7 years Gannon comepletely raped all of Hyrule and established his dominace with little to no effort, or oppossition. When Link confronted him, he basically thought he couldn't be defeated because he was pretty much a god, and would become even stronger when he obtained the full triforce. Which I can't blame him, if I had the ToP, I'd be a cocky sob too. The first fight, it looks like Dorf isn't even trying with Link, it's like he knows his victory is inevitable. He just charges Dead Man's Volley and throws it at him, knocks it back and forth until it gains enough speed to stun him before he can pimp slap it back at him, giving Link the oppurtunity to pwn him with lightarrows/master sword. Then after he lost the fight he tried to kill them both by collapsing the tower. When that failed to kill them, it looks that he became so enraged that the transformation just happens out of desperation to win and gain the full triforce. Whether, or not, it was voulintary, or if it trades magic for power, I'm not really sure. It just seemed like his only hope to be rid of the HoT. He was just pushed to the point where the ToP transformed him, revealing his true nature. It was the first time a real threat had opposed him, making him actually put effort into achieving his goals... sorry about clustering this all together. My sister's comp won't let me use the enter button for some reason, so I couldn't put it into paragraphs.

Yeah what he said.

And half-bump to see if people will admit to Link's strength above and not the myth some blindly follow. ahah

4.5 Gigajoules, now gtfo before I pick up my calculator, hm?

Tell me how this:

OoT Link.

73 pixels = 6 ft.
Side length = 143 pixels = 11.753 ft /2 = 5.876 ft.

Pillar volume in cubic feet; 20075.4 [Base x height.] [Base = radius [9.5] x 1/2 side length [5.876]x 6] 334.59
Height = 30 ft.

Weight in pounds per cubic foot depends on the composition.
[usually 166.5 for lighter WHITE granite. Total weight in pounds; 1671277.05]
- 835.638 tons.
[Black granite, much more likely; 179. Total weight in pounds; 1796748.3]
- 898.3 tons.

Magically turns into 400 tons when I didn't even math the weight of the tapering caps on the pillar? 😐

Furthermore, I've measured Link's effing stride in that game, and it's huge. Using his steps to measure isn't going to work and the trig answer you got doesn't work either. You've not factored in the arc, my conversion of your measurements into feet seems to be wrong because it says Link is more than six feet, and yet you somehow shrank the effing pillar?

The ****ing thing has a seam in it's texture at Link's exact height which nullifies the need to use him for scale, getting rid of the small errors that result from perspective, and you haven't used it. 😐

500 megajoules, I could say the same~

If you say magically I assume you didn't read my calcs, cos if you did you'd be showing where the faults are to prove my method wrong instead of just showing my your view. And judging by the end numbers it wouldn't be hard for you to find what should be a large fault, cos Ive already found yours. Maybe youre getting it wrong because;

The length isnt anywhere near twice his height as you say it is. The reason your end result is twice mine is because a 3.5m hex^2 is twice the figure of a 2.44m hex^2. And from this image, the length would have to be 378 pixels to be 3.5m, which is obviously not the case.

IIRC the image you're using has angle issues. Why not use this one seeing as its more clear and level then the one you have?

Use metric.. seriously. Its more accurate and precise to use a smaller measurement that goes up in 10's and 100's then 12's AKA better for calculations.. >___>

Yeah, no. You realise that that Link would need a 6m stride for those 30 steps to equal 200m, right? Unless you're telling me he moves 17ft each step or is jogging at 28m/s. 😐 I have steps, stride, time and trig to support what I say as evident of them all giving the same figures = consistency. [Can use trig to an extent, more so as it shows the same number] While you haven't said once how you got 200m. So excuse me if I'm ignoring something that hasn't been provided. 😬
Once again already covered. The curve has been assumed(1.3xdistance) to 50ish and then doubled to 100m incase its wrong..

-_- Yeah.. the seam is where the green line is which makes it more clear, bit more accurate then 'about his height' and still changes nothing...

Or maybe the pillar isn't a perfect hexagon, thus making both of your measures of the sides incorrect.

Or maybe it's just an inflatable Ganon put up to fool you.

Doubtful. Inflatables would not make such a racket when thrown.

Or perhaps it's time we solved this the old fashioned way. Boggle tournament.

I kick ass at that game if it's the one I'm thinking of.

Bogg..wha? No. ¬¬

Zelda>Kingdom Hearts

Forget you, Rain. I love Boggle.

I don't even... get your Boggle out of here. <__<

Boggle tournament, now.

No.

Physical pain must be inflicted on you both.

Bring it on!

...in Boggle.

CAN'T HURT ME, /covers head with boggle board.
