I really like the debate idea, because there is so much to talk about. I listen to mugglecast, and you should hear some of the stuff they discuss; they pull the books apart 😛

Honestly anything that would make this section a bit more active as it use to be. I know the last time it was active was around Goblet of Fire and Half Blood Prince but it would be nice to keep it that way instead of having it like that around the time of a book or movie. and what will happen when the series is over? There wouldn't be much to talk about after that despite the movies.

Interesting idea, I know Phoenix used to do them when she was mod, but said that they became confusing I think. I don't remember her exactly words but lemme do some investigating and I'll get back to you on this. 🙂
Maybe a versus section (hopeful)? There's a Star Wars versus section, and it was a huge hit (it's dying down just a little now ater 2 and a half years). I think it might not draw a lot of new members right away, but it would increase activity amongst those who post here already. I know if there was a HP versus section I'd come here all the time (I have been a member since May 2005 and have only posted in the HP section a couple of times right now). I'd even be willing to moderate (if there was need for a mod, not trying to sound hopeful with that statement or anything.)
What does everybody else think?

I'd be a huge proponent of a versus section. I love those debates, as long as they're realistic and fact-based...I have had issues in other forums because there is no specific versus forum for some of my posts :-(. And by versus, I don't mean only within HP...I mean within everywhere (i.e. Voldemort vs. Darth Vader, Dumbledore vs. Gandalf, etc.).

This is why we need a versus forum lol...no prob with you being a bigger SW fan, and I do agree w/u about Voldemort vs Vader. However, Gandalf the White from the books (a demi-god) would not just lose to Dumbledore so easily...it may be a 50/50 thing. My issue is that characters from the Potterverse are so often underestimated by those who've not read the books and seriously think that Dumbledore is just some old guy who can barely walk lol. Fools!
