Superman with muscles

You guys have probably thought about this before as well, but it just hit me again. If Superman's powers are from the sun and his biological structure, why does he have muscles? He doesn't need them lol. He could be extremely overweight and still have the gifts of superstrength, flight, etc.

Wouldn't that be a funny looking picture, an obese Superman fighting like, Metallo? lol.

I don't know about you (no offence to anyone) but I would be scared if a fat superhero saved me (Grateful yet scared)

And plus, the sun kind of charges his body therefor he needs muscles

Maybe if you try the supes section, prolly get an answer there, Im clueless, but then I dont care either.

That really doesn't have nothing to do with Smallville...
