Powers vs Lineage

This thread is for those who wondered about how somebodies kid, has powers that have no root in their parents abilities.

I was on the cbr, and saw this debate..
First up Hyperman, God of hypertime, son of superman and wondy...WTF!!!!

Reed and Sue Richards. Their son comes out to be nearly a god.

Is it just me, or are the Guthrie's a mutant breeding pen?

I can take FR being akin to a celestial in power. His mothers shields are derived from hypertime. Celestials are made up of hypertime. Thats how they exist on multiple planes of reality simultaneously. I can buy his powers. They are actually, akin to brothers from a different mother.
