"Let he who has no sin cast the first stone"...

Even I know that story. And also, God reserves the right to judge, not men.

where ? well one of the places are the Romans since you clearly didnt read my entire post and dont know your bible to well I reapeat it
Rom.2.1 -2.2 Therefore you have no excuse, O man, whoever you are, when you judge another; for in passing judgment upon him you condemn yourself, because you, the judge, are doing the very same things.
We know that the judgment of God rightly falls upon those who do such things.

Don't judge, and you won't be judged. Don't condemn, and you won't be condemned. Set free, and you will be set free.
Luke 6:37

7.2: For with whatever judgment you judge, you will be judged; and with whatever measure you measure, it will be measured to you.
Matt 7:2

Said by Jesus.

Why do you believe a myth is a lie. I never said that a myth is a lie. I think you worship the bible.

Why do you need proof? Don't you have faith?

Myth: A fiction or half truth, especially one that forms part of an ideology
Saying something is a myth IS saying that it is untrue.

Yes, I have faith. Faith in Jesus Christ. But if you intend to prove to me that for some reason Christianity and the Bible are full of lies, then you have to present me with tangible proof. Obviously, since you constantly insinuate that there is no supernatural being, you have to have tangible proof, right?

Idol
Somebody or something greatly and often fanatically admired and loved.

By saying that the bible is the word of god you have made that book an idol. Your attachment to this idol is apparent by how upset you all got at my question. Even questioning the bible is taboo; sounds like an idol to me.

Upset? Who on Earth said that I was upset? And you really do sound confused to me in terms of what the Bible represents to Christians. It is a physical book that contains the words of God. You do not worship it. Do you wanna know a group that worships their holy book? I believe that the Sikhs (sp?) have a book that gets its own room (I'm not sure if it is them exactly, but one of the religions in India). That, Shaky, is worshipping a book.

Christianity is a myth, but myths are not lies, myths are a way of conveying a deeper truth.

I never said that the bible was filled with lies, I only asked what would you think if I told you that. You should read more carefully.

If someone were to say to me that the Lotus sutra was filled with lies, I wouldn’t give that person’s opinion any weight. What I find strange is how Christians can be so offended by non-Christians saying the bible is a lie. Even you succumb to this misplaced anger. It makes me think your faith is very week and when someone questions your week faith, you get hurt, because deep down inside you know the truth about yourself.

This thread is about independent thinking; not rather Christianity is true. So why would I want to prove anything to you? You are where you need to be. I don’t know the lessons that you need to learn in life, and I don’t know your relationship with God.

Now why would you disobey the bible and judge me. You don’t know me, and it is obvious that you have not read many of my posts. So, next time be much slower to judge.

My oh my. Aren't we touchy today? How am I judging you? I am not at all. Why is it that people are always so quick to say that you are judging them once they know that you are Christian? I just question you because you seem to have some sort of vendetta against Christianity. Its the only religion I ever see you wanting to critique on this forum. Maybe YOU are the one with weak beliefs. Maybe you are made insecure by Christianity. But hey, like you said, I don't know you. And you equally don't know me.
In general, some Christians get angry about people crapping on the Bible and their beliefs because people only ever seem to want to disprove Christianity. Think how YOU would feel if people only ever wanted to diss Buddhism.
Myths convey a deeper truth? But the actual happenings in myths? The people and events? Are they not fictional? Again, by calling something a myth, you are saying it is untrue. Period.

Well, let me see...

Obviously, since you constantly insinuate that there is no supernatural being

That was it. 😄

I’m not touchy; I’m just intense.

I did see a weakness in my faith. That is why I am confronting it, I cannot grow as a Buddhist with hate for Christianity in my heart. But I have come a long ways, and don’t feel as much hate as I once did. I talked about this in other posts, you must of read it.

If you have truly deep faith it will not matter to you that others wish to destroy your faith.

We don’t agree on myth, which is short for mystic. Should I call it, hidden truth? I don’t care about words; you may call it what you wish.

Not true. Eventually you will get annoyed that people keep trashing what you believe in and insist on making you out to be unintelligent and closed-minded because of it. Its human nature.

You are in control of how you feel. No one can make you feel one way or the other, it is always you or me that makes us angry. Have strong faith and it will not matter, you will endure.

I'll give you an example: You are playing cards with some friends, and you have just gotten a royal flush; no one knows it. Your friends start to make fun of you, and tell you that your hand is bad, the worsted. You are not going to care because you know you have a royal flush.

My friend, if you have strong faith in your Christianity, then you have a royal flush. I know, for a fact, that I have a royal flush, and I’m a Buddhist.

You may win the hand but you will lose the game. Heaven is for those that accept Christ and hell is for those that don't. You know where you fit in.

And I repeat. I wouldn' t consider worshipping a God where a person’ s eternal fate is not being decided upon based on their actions, but merely on their decision to believe.

It seems that some Christians are at war, so it dose not matter what you do, only what uniform you wear.

I agree. If the end all is obediance and belief, that doesn't speak much for morality.

That would explain why some of the most evil people I have ever met were Christian.

Or at least said they were.

I would think a preacher was a Christian, and a man who molests his daughters is defiantly evil. However, the devil made him do it. 🙄

Not true. As we are all made up of energy at our essence, we will all return to whatever source we came from. There is also a scripture that says "The spirit returns to god who gave it."....AND there is no Hell for nonbelievers. This was the lie manufactured by the Roman Catholic church...........Sooooo be happy, you're all free!!! 🍺
