Thank you for taking the time to read my post. Unfortunately, I was just made aware of a post that I had missed made by John Ostrander in which he compared the dissenting users (albeit, possibly indirectly) to the Taliban, an oppressive government that was essentially run by terrorists. The thin-skinnedness, inability to take criticism, and poor reception I was willing to tolerate, but that's the last straw. I regret to inform you that I will not purchase Legacy or anything else by Dark Horse - not out of a difference in opinion, but out of principle against such a lack of taste and professionalism.
For the record, Mr. Ostrander: I'm fairly certain your storywriting skills had little to do with Aayla Secura's inclusion in the films. If I had to guess, I'd say that it was Ms. Duursema who was responsible for that. Your belief that George Lucas has read any EU illustrates just how delusional you are. Aayla Secura was made into canon because Lucas saw a picture of her, pointed at it and said, "Hey, she looks cool. Let's put her in the movie and have her stand around in her skimpy outfit and be pretty." If you think otherwise, well, that's your fantasy. I honestly feel bad that it's come to this because I genuinely enjoyed your previous contributions to the SW universe. Forget basic dignity, maybe next time you'll at least show gratitude to those interested in your work instead of making offensive comparisons, especially to terrorists.
Ms. Duursema, my apologies as I would've liked to discuss this further with you. You didn't say anything wrong and it's a shame that your associates would be the reason Dark Horse loses a customer (though I largely suspect I'm not the only one). While I may not have respect for Mr. Ostrander as a professional anymore, I hold no such prejudice against you. You're an amazing artist and seem to be a pretty nice lady. Take care and good luck.
Mr. Stradley...well Randy, honestly my biggest problem in this thread has been you and your complete lack of common sense, much less a knowledge or respect for established continuity AS WELL AS a total failure to respond fairly to anything other than fanboys verbally licking your ass. How you got your position eludes me, but I'm willing to bet it involved a lot of bullshitting, since that's all you seem to be good for. Enjoy detracting from a great saga as you wage your petty campaign against Del Rey - because I'm sure they give a crap.
I have to thank you, though. After my first post and now this one, you’ve done more for my standing back on my board than a whole DECADE of posting would’ve done. So thanks, now in addition to all the other stuff I’m known for, I’ll go down as the guy who made a complete buffoon out of His Majesty Randy Stradley, Dark Horse’s VP of Publishing, got his panties in a bunch, and completely discredited him in the eyes of dozens, possibly hundreds of fans.
