A is for Adult in the comic rating system. Let's see there's all ages, T, T+, and A. A is like getting an R movie-rating (violence, language, and / or sex).

I don't know. I don't think so. They certainly don't "card" at the local comics shop. I think it's like the old Comics Code Authority in that no one pays it any attention.

I'm not sure how much violence is required for an A-rating. Generally speaking sexuality tends to make the prudish ratings people here in America more uncomfortable than violence. But if it is anything like the movie ratings system that it is often compared to, it would probably be more along the lines of
Ax murders = T+ Skin showing = A.
Sable's clevage is showing on the cover--that's probably why it's rated A.
